I tried crocheting as well, a girl I know from the university crochets her own plushies... She tried teaching me, but gave up on it... :qhehe: Even if she kept constant watch, every attempt somehow failed, she couldn't find how I did it, but it always ended up wrong...
I'd love to be able to crochet and knit... Guess it just wasn't meant to be... Recently I don't have much time to make clothes anymore, but I might try and make a plushie based on a wild knuffel of Raine's... I've always wanted to try and make one, might as well start during the holidays... The thought of it will help me survive the exams...
*bows down to thy prowess in crocheting and knitting and quilting* I'm always entranced when looking at people who're doing something I can't... I love watching them doing those things with ease!

Aw, you don't have to give me anything. :) I can probably buy a few sets of gloves myself but I'm waiting for Wilds to go down. Want to make sure I have enough money for the bunch I want.

It took me a while to get crocheting. Mom tried to teach me when I was pretty young so for the longest time all I could do was a chain and double crochet. After I got gauging down pretty well, I tried a pattern and my first doll dress I did, I hated it. xD It's so lopsided and everything. I haven't done a lot of quilting. Mom has recently been teaching me that. We've kinda put it on hold for a bit. She's attempting to make a quilt for her mom's birthday. Plus, fabric is pretty pricey. I'd like to make things and sell them. I certainly don't need a bunch of blankets and things laying around.

>.> I got colors for all 3 patterns to make bracelets with. xD I couldn't help it! They were all so pretty. <3

Thanks Floofy! I was able to buy the item I wanted that leaves on tuesday! Thanks!

We have loads of fabrics at home, because my mother constantly makes clothes, she's always working on something...
Fabrics are also quite cheap in certain places here, so long as you don't choose some fabrics such as silk. I know a street out here that has lots of cheap fabric shops where the most expensive fabric is about 6 dollars, and there are 'fairs' for fabrics where you can go in an entire expo hall and buy thousands of different fabrics straight from their producers or from store owners at a lower price than usual... There's usually some cheaper stuff in there as well. If you compare it, beads are more expensive out here...
Take a picture of the bracelets once they're done? *curious*

You're welcome. :)

Well, fabric stores are pretty scarce around here. People don't do as much sewing as they used to. ): That's probably the biggest reason why most fabrics are pricey. Usually when we get some, it's on sale or we have coupons to help reduce the price. ^-^

I will. :) I'm gonna try to finish up this one I started last night. It was a different sort of pattern so I wanted to try it and see how it turned out. Going well so far. ^-^

ah, too bad there's so little where you're at... Handicrafts seem to get more popular here every day... There's lots of stores here for all sorts of handicrafts... Most cities also give evening classes on them.

Seems I should move there then, hah! Nobody around here appreciates a good hand-made item anymore. ):

Really? That's too bad... I always figured that people paid more for handmade stuff... It's usually better quality. They're quite sought after sometimes...

*gets manic glitter in her eyes* Yes... Come to the dark side... We have Chocolate! *slinks off into the rural backwater country 'here' is*
It has it perks, but there're always downsides...

Haha. I love chocolate. *-*

Some people in less city-like areas might like home-made stuff more but I don't think many people in my local area really care for it. And of course I'm sure there's always the avid buyer on the internet out there somewhere. -Nod- But right here, people are more concerned with technology and such. We do, however, have a couple groups or clubs that do hand crafts. My mom and I would like to find a group who do things that we like to do but we haven't found one yet.

Even in the cities here there's loads of groups that do handicrafts or sell them... We care for technology, but somehow we love hand crafted stuff too. There's lots of stores here that sell just hand made items. There's of course the ever present large chains as well, but like I said... Even if this is considered a large city, most people still have a village mentality and like to do things 'the old way'. Usually the hand made stuff is also much safer or stronger.
Btw, Chocolate is omnipresent out here. My hometown is super small and still has its own chocolatier... The country is known for our chocolates, beers and food... But most importantly:Chocolate is cheap here! I couldn't survive without chocolate. I nearly died when I went on my first trip abroad and found the chocolates to be sooooo expensive. I'm not used to that... :qsweat: Thank god it was a group trip for school, all the girls put their money together to buy a large pack of chocolate. We're all addicted to the stuff out here... Or at least most of us... There are still people that are allergic to them.
Nice thing to know though is that I live a block away from a chocolatebar... So a bar that deals only in chocolate beverages and ice creams and brownies and stuff... *delighted sigh*

I'm off to bed early this time... Sooooo don't feel up for tomorrow's exam :qd: :mccry:

anybody else think these smileys are so much fun?

I would absolutely love to live somewhere like that. o.o I'd like to make my own stuff and grow my own food. And a chocolatier?! That would be my house, ha! I'm so jealous. xD If I don't ever move somewhere like that while I'm young, I will definitely retire to a place like that. :D It sounds absolutely lovely. And I understand the chocolate addiction. I can go a day or so without it but I MUST have it sometime during the week!

Sleep well, Vineda. Good luck with those exams. :)

Edit: Here's a couple pics of the bracelet I'm making right now.
