Welcome,
GrimDaeva!

It's nice to meet you.
Sansoucci-Yes, your outfit is great but creepy at the same time. XD
As to the tortoises, they also live a very long time. So, if someone doesn't get their care right they could be taking a long life away from them. Not that a short lifespan is any less important but I'm sure you know what I mean. And anyone who owns a tortoise will likely have to name a caregiver for them in their will, same with parrots. A lot of people don't think about that.
Zia-No, they're not plants. I'm afraid I didn't do much better for my bunny when I was little. It's a shame animals have to suffer for our stupidity.

Thank you!
I tried giving a guy advice in one of the tortoise groups recently, but he swore he didn't need any advice because he'd had a tortoise before, so he knows all about their care. He went on to tell me about how he had a tortoise who lived to be a whole 5 years old. It was a species that should have lived to be around 100 years old.
Other people have an old tortoise and think his age is absolute proof that they're doing everything perfectly when, in reality, the tortoise is surviving despite their care, not thriving because of their care. But so many people don't see any difference.
I had a rabbit and guinea pig years ago and didn't do great by them either. I was young, I didn't know any better, facebook wasn't out yet so there weren't all these educational animal groups, etc.

Aaaa!

I'm so sorry! I've been crazy busy for the last few days and couldn't find the time for more than collecting tokens
@GrimDaeva: First of all, hi, welcome to Kofk

Second of all, I swear I'm going to send you the trade in a couple hours when I get to my laptop (I'm typing on the phone)
@Everyone, thanks for keeping this thread alive

True. I think the information is easier to find now, though, at least. Thanks to the internet. Doesn't help the arrogant know-it-alls, though, unfortunately.

GrimDaeva-Thank you!
I know! When I first joined I couldn't believe how beautiful the clothes, etc. were. I was also amazed that we had so many color choices.
Sanssouci-You're welcome.
Awww, that's so sad it only lived 5 years.

At least you tried to help him and the poor tortoise. It's all on him that he didn't want to take your advice. But if you're anything like me, you'll worry about that tortoise for a long time. *sighs*
You're very right about that. Surviving isn't necessarily thriving, which applies to people too. XD I was just thinking about that the other day.
Too true. The internet has caused a lot of problems but it's great for finding information on pretty much any subject.
mem-No problem.

I haven't been doing a great job of replying myself lately.

I think by the time that I get everything else done I'm just too tired to think of something to say.
Zia-Absolutely, Sansoucci and I were just talking bout the same thing. No, nothing will ever help them. People like that drive me crazy. We're all guilty of it sometimes I guess but the key is not to do it all the time or when you might hurt/neglect someone or something if we don't listen.

My least favourite type of this personality is when they say, "No, that doesn't happen" while you're relating your personal experience where that totally did happen. Oh, okay. I guess I was hallucinating/lying to get attention. *eyeroll*
