Kinda sad, but also means I have more time to get to 15 books read if I still get that far this year. According to my goodreads, I'm still one book ahead.
It is The Light of All That Falls by James Islington. I took the first book with me to Japan last year to read on the plane, but ended up being on a bus much of the time (I went with my mom and she said we had to do a tour, which was nice since I went to places I would have never known about otherwise) so I read a lot on the bus and by the time we were done for the day all of the stores were closed so I would read it in the hotel room since there was no where to go explore or look at shops. It is such a good book though. I read the second book as soon as I bought it when I got back to the States. The author is really good in his writing. He puts out little bread crumbs for you to follow with little hints here and there and there is still one thing that was not answered from the first book that I REALLY WANT TO KNOW.

I am not touching wattpad with a bargepole XD
Last night I felt too drained to do some more work so I went to bed early and ended up reading a whole book on my phone. Rock by Anyta Sunday. It was pretty good, I usually like her work, but there was this whole thing where the two main love interests found out they might possibly be brothers. In fact, it was getting more and more likely that they were, so they started staying away from one another. Then they did a DNA test.... and burnt the results and just carried on having a relationship without knowing D: that made me uncomfortable. I have to assume the intention of the author was that they weren't really brothers anyway, otherwise too much ick.

Haha, that somehow reminded me of that book about a young girl who chose to be a sort of witch and had to take on a form of an old lady. Then she met this guy who supposedly "saw through the facade" and he was giving her presents, adored her and took her out on dates, dressed her in gowns and even kissed publicly all while she was still an old lady. And I totally understood the author's intentions but that was super cringy to read.

Both of those sound interesting and absolutely cringey at the same time. Not going to lie, kinda want to read Rock now though. It sounds like it would be good except for the cringey aspect of they might be brothers. Sometimes the author needs to paint the picture big and not leave it to imagination. At least for me.

Sure, big age difference, I don't mind people falling in love no matter their age. But imagine a young man with a very old lady dressed in an evening gown with cequins, kissing on a bench in the park. Cringe as hell XD

@wulfilalice: Yeah, he definitely got me. I will definitely be picking up his future books since this is his debut series.

Mem: haha crinnggggeee all those other people watching them XD I always think about that with immortal characters, like vampires etc, when they take a human lover. It sucks when they have to start pretending the other person is their parent... or grandparent XD
@Rubie if you like the sound of it then read any other Anyta Sunday book... literally any other. They're pretty much all really good and they don't usually have this cringe moment XD Usually it's just more along the lines of "we're just people who vaguely know each other and don't even like one another... BUT WAIT WHAT IF WE DO" haha
@wulf getting paid for your work? :D haha but on a serious note, if someone really feels the need to put out work for free without building their own platform, then Medium. Because it's a much more weighty platform, so it has more cachet and a big audience of readers anyway. Unless someone's goal is just to write something not very serious and then walk away and never entertain the goal of being a writer in any capacity, in which case, probably wattpad is fine.
