Her previous owner didn't really take good care of her at all.

I don't understand why people get pets if they can't take care of them or don't care to have them to begin with.
I only got half of my fence up now, but man, it's so nice not being on display for the whole neighborhood when I'm outside and won't have to worry about dogs jumping (I think the fence was like 3.5 ft at some parts because it's was scalloped)

I don't understand it either, but I'm glad we have her now.
That's so short! I think the only time I've ever had a fence like that was when my parents first got their house it had a wooden farm fence that only really served as a way to mark boundaries.

I get a feeling the original owners who probably had input in the house (my neighborhood is newer, like most houses are 15 years or newer) did it more for decoration than function.

Well to be honest it actually used to be an area with a bunch of farms so it made sense in a way. My family wasn't using the place for farming though.

Oh, but a lot of people like the rustic farm look. I live in rural area so I know quite a few people that like having the farm house look.

There are a couple people in the neighborhood over who did that, but for the most part the cluster of houses that included our house were a part of one big farm.

Are some of the houses some of the old buildings or more like a new build?

Most of them were new-ish. They basically split up the land and built houses on each 2 acre plot.

Oh that's still nice, got a big yard. A pain to take care of, but nice when you have dogs and they can run around like crazy. My mom's house sits on about 2 acres and I lived at home when I got my first dog. He loved it.
