Yeah, I haven't been very good lately at keeping up with my to-read list.
I keep going back to old favorites instead of branching out and trying new ones.

Still, there's something very comforting about physical books that mean I won't give up on them, lol, no matter how far behind I fall!

Yeah I used to love reading physical books. But buying them is expensive. And after Covid, I’m a bit leery at reading books touched by too many ppl from the library. Lol

It doesn't take long for the germs on objects to die off; if you're worried, go in with gloves and a mask. Get your books. Leave them alone for maybe 2 days and they'll be safe to read.
Since you can usually check books out for a couple weeks at a time, that's still plenty of time to enjoy them, and then you don't have to buy!

I really love how our library set up a program to deliver books to everyone living in the city during Covid. So many people were stuck at home, it was an amazing service! They also did the quarantine-books-for-two-days thing, and because they needed more space to do that in, they ended up coordinating with some of the other businesses that had buildings which weren't in use as they had closed down their offices for a while... it was amazing to see everyone work together like that. Super impressive!

I know that. Like my brain knows these facts but emotionally I’m like “ewww someone else touched these books” lol. I didn’t have this problem before since I even used to buy second hand books.

Huh. Do you think you'll always have this reaction now, or do you think it'll go away after a while?

Now I'm feeling thankful because I definitely still get most of my books second-hand; it would be sad to miss that feeling of wandering around browsing at used bookstores.

@Akili Ooh you read webnovels too? I'd love some recommendations (preferably completed)! I've read and loved Mr. Melancholy Wants to Live a Peaceful Life, and I have a few on my to-be-reads including Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint.

That's harder, to my mind. That's an ongoing, you have to live with it forever thing, instead of one single moment that's the exception instead of the rule.

@chuunibyou, yep, Hotarla got me started on webnovels, lol

Completed webnovel recommendations, let's see...
Have you read Tori Transmigrated? It's fairly long, just to warn you, but I was impressed with the depth of the characters and with the solidity of the world-building.

Huh.
Most of the others I was thinking of, I went to the bookmarks to get the URLs and they've been taken down for editing/publishing.
Oops.

I'll post again when I find more.

Nu?
If you have us covered on webnovels, start posting your recommendations!

I could always do with a few more. :)

Regular-novel-wise, I just started rereading the Thursday Next series again. (by Jasper Fforde)
