I also have less time on weekends, since that's when tutoring is the busiest :mcargh:

@Amura: Kids are adorable (when they're being nice) but very draining eh :mcheh: I used to teach a group of elementary and pre-school kids and the energy drain was insane >___<

@Akili: I feel you about family! For me only my mom is close, everyone else is in China and I miss them a lot. With the pandemic still going around I don't know when I'll have the chance to visit family overseas... //sigh

My son is very easy-going if you know him.
Quite introverted and quirky, but very nice and extremely reliable for his age.
But sometimes it feels great having a little bit of me-time :mccute:

And, yeah, we used to live far from all our family.
It was really complicated. If there was any urgent matter it took us almost the whole day arriving here.
And we could not count on anybody for anything, we were on our own.
But four years ago we had some luck with our jobs and moved here, which is very very close to my in-laws (less than 30 minutes!) and quite close to my parents (1 hour and a half).
It really makes a difference.

Awww your son sounds super sweet! :mclove:
And yeah having family close really gives you a sense of safety. I was living on my own for uni and when I started work, it was really rough. I moved back in with my mom when the pandemic hit, it was rocky at first but at the end of the day, nothing beats your parents having your back when you need support!

He is, he really is. I'm so lucky to have him.
He's got quite a bit of peculiarities, but so do both his parents so I suppose it's genetics

I could not stand living with my parents though.
Our relationship has been complicated my whole life and I get very anxious when I'm with them.
I think I got a boyfriend in the first place to scape them xD

What is life without our peculiarities :mccool:

Yeaaaah living with parents is always difficult, even moreso if the relationship is rocky. I feel very fortunate that my mom and I were able to find a balance to live together (mostly) peacefully! However I will definitely move out soon as my career stabilizes :mcsquee:
For now I'll say nothing beats coming home after work to a delicious dinner already made and waiting for you :mclove:

That's what my husband says xD

My mom has always hated cooking. She always said she'd rather clean the bathroom than cooking a meal. She does cook every day though, but she still does it poorly - because it's an unkind chore for her.

So my idea of coming home to a delicious dinner usually mean I cooked it xD

I started my Big Girl Job during the pandemic, so it was work from home until now.
Everyone in the family was working from home and there wasn't place for everyone to take work calls simultaneously, as it meant we couldn't work in the same room.
Then my maternal grandparents moved into the same building and I moved into a room in their house. I could work undisturbed then, and my dad had his room to himself to work, and my brother had a room in which to listen to college lectures (and game most of the time lol).
And now the office says they are reopening and I'm being asked to move to Mumbai (which is like the Indian version of moving to New York; housing is poky and expensive ugh).

I do like cooking too but definitely not after working all day :mcheh: Back when I lived alone I lived on a lot of instant foods and take out...

@Mynah: I've been working from home due to the pandemic too! It's definitely a double edged sword because on one hand convenience, on the other hand isolation and staring at a screen all day... I've been super happy being able to go back to the office!

Yeah I guess there are pros and cons to everything. And change always feels uncomfortable.
