I would get out and check the dog was okay, if he wasnt okay I would have to call the owners. I know I usually do everything possible to stop for animals so If I did hit it it would mean that there was nothing else I could have done to avoid it. I would feel bad of course but I would still call.

I would stop, get the dog in my car and to the closest vet if I could. if it was too late I would definitely contact the owners if it had an info tag.
it would be better to know what happened than to just wonder and search for maybe years.

I would stop for a deer, a hedgehog or any animal I would hit as well. I think it's our responsability to check on an animal we hurt and try to help it.
