Yes, they mean the the free ones given here. Like the King, etc.

Have you played with your Free Knuffel during the last year?

If yes, Then your free Knuffel will be safe!

If no, The you have two options, Go now and play with it to keep it safe or do nothing and it will be deleted.

Again >> It is a good idea to go ahead and play with all your knuffels NOW that you do not want deleted!

The only knuffels that will not be deleted regardless of the date are the four that were sold in KNUFFTROPOLIS.

I'm sure they are not going to bother disabling the link but that is a good point.
I would stop for the next week or so,
then once Firn has deleted the unused Knuffel then you can start back up.
