Grandma's parrot likes to laugh over us. Never a dull moment with birds around!

I grew up with chickens, so overall, pecking doesn't worry me too much. It's the flogging if the bird has spurs or sharp toenails that concern me.

Churrpy never really pecked. She'd bite, though. Father-in-law says that when they're eating together, if he's taking too long giving her her portions, she'll gently bite him twice as a warning before biting really hard. She's super spoilt, that bird.

I'm kind of scared of horses, too.

Oh god, yeah. Churppy kept standing on my head which was fine but instead of flying up there she'd climb my body to get up there? And one time she decided to climb on my FACE and oh god her talon in my eye hurt SO much. She hasn't been allowed on my head since then.

That was my lazy bantams! Bantams can fly just a little bit, and they would half-fly, half-claw up my back to stand on my shoulder and then fly up into some low branches to roost for the night. Usually I could see them coming, but sometimes they'd sneak up on me and next thing I knew I had bird toes digging into the back of my head. Good memories. Unlike a talon in the eye, yikes. I hope you didn't get injured from that.

Not as far as I know. I can see just out of both eyes, but maybe if I go to an ophthalmologist they'll find something that I can't. Hurt like hell in the moment, though.

Churrpy loves to fly but if she's already on you she'll climb all over you. She loves to climb down your back to where you can't reach her.

I think a hiatus is much more normal and acceptable these days given the chaos of life. XD
