That would match right? :3 It sounds like it would. My usual x-mas wrapping is either brown parcel paper or the really swanky white and gold filigree looking patterns. I bought a giant roll of that stuff last year for $10. Also because every where for Stealing Santa people tend to guess the person based on wrapping paper and style so I need to get new wrapping paper each year =_=;

I should check how much wrapping paper we still have... But probably enough, we tend to have quite a lot of christmas themed rolls, because they get sold everywhere around the right time. We always run out of non-christmas paper to use for birthdays ;)

I had a bit of a break through today as well with my work which is nice but I'm too tired to go through laser manuals.

Yeh some suggestions would be to use some brown twine and tie something onto it. Bit of plastic holly (or some plastic decor with red berries) and even fresh rosemary would do :3 At least the package looks rustic and cute whilst smelling nice.

I actually buy celebratory wrapping paper that works for any occasion. I often avoid traditional christmas colours and associated images like santa hats or reindeer and definitely no lettering of any kind. Any paper that is shiny, silver or gold with intricate patterns works.

Yay for breakthroughs! I ended up expanding a bit upon the code I wrote yesterday (basically just actually also writing some output that uses it) and testing it a little bit. Of course I had to fix a bunch of dumb little errors ^^ But it's something. Now I think I'll find me some lunch and then I should start on actually getting into the experiment automation and the file organization and how I dump my stats sensibly.

Reading laser manuals sounds tedious. What are you working on, if I may ask? I used to be in physics and lasers were my favourite thing to play with :)

Oh, including rosemary in christmas decorations is a great idea! The aesthetics would be similar to fir sprigs, but with a different but also nice smell :)

That's a smart move (having universal wrapping paper), but the one that's sold before christmas is often very clearly christmas-y. I think we have (or maybe had) some that's on the fence, like, no clear christmas imagery but the decorations were in red and gold which are christmas colours to me.
I have some silver with black decorations, but that's one of the precious birthday-appropriate ones, so it doesn't get used on christmas if I can avoid it ;)

I'm just currently modelling laser heating in COMSOL. I'm actually hoping to find the divergence (or anything similar) of a particular laser in the manual. I don't know if it'll be listed or how you even obtain this value. Is comp sci your postgraduate degree then or did you transfer from physics?

Even taping the sprig on (depending on the length of the stem) would be cute. If it helps, I actually visited a card store or anywhere that would specialise in paper. The one I went to in particular helped you design your wedding invitations so they had a bunch of cute paper. You'll probably be able to find universal, fancy gift wrap there. It should be available all year round.

Do you find washy tapes loses it's stickiness over time? I had several rolls and I didn't use em for a year and they weren't as sticky as they should be :c
