Jolien, having such an spacious house and terrace is a treasure!
I would be visiting you every other day xD

We live in a flat, which is very nice and has plenty of light, but still a flat.
Having a house is a whole another level!

I think it's nice they make cool-looking rooms for kids, life is already hard enough on them without the usually depressing hospital rooms :|

We have space, but in general there's still the rural feeling here. Kids just go biking after dinner or after school. There's traffic and they do have to watch out, but there's several streets where there's not much to do and loads of off-road options, though I don't think they regularly go there.

We have a guest room, you could come. ;-D

I think the hospital was probably replaced? It reminded me of a hospital in our neighbourhood. It used to be for the miner's, they left it in '99 and finally, they're going to make something out of it. It used to be a pretty building, but when nothing happens in it for over 20 years, it looks just sad, like this. There will open a school and they promissed to keep the old building.

I would go visit you anytime!
And I would bring my little one.

If only life was so different, huh, I would do so many things! :D

Btw I love your new avatar! Lovely bright colors!

I'd been to the kids' area of the hospital a few times.
Just looking around and sometimes I had a reason to be there.

My sister was born with a heart defect and she was moved to a children's hospital in Fort Worth.
It's not as cool as the kids' floor in the old hospital, but they do decorate. Especially around Christmas.

It's sad knowing that the kids are sick. We had to stay for a few days and there were a couple staying next to us and I don't think their baby was doing good. I remember them seeming really sad.

On a lighter note, they made us all watch a video on babies that stop breathing and made us practice rescue breathing.
WELL, they gave us plastic to use so our mouths didn't touch the dummy and I was tired so I rested my head and inhaled the plastic >Bu
I almost suffocated for a second 8u

My son had surgery at 3 weeks old, but the newborns' area of the hospital had no decoration at all - because only parents would notice anyway.
I guess it only makes sense for older children.

The lighter notice being that you almost suffocated xD
You have a sense of humor!

Hmmm...they should always decorate everything for everyone \>8u/
Hospitals suck so they need to make it look awesome for everyone having to stay there.

I remember hearing this story that really stuck with me.

Yeah, it's totally something I would do.
Suffocate myself while learning how to help someone breathe 8u

Thanks! :D I got this pretty dress from Mem and I had to use it. <3

Also, kinda random, but less than 500 points to go and I'll have my first lvl 100 knuffel. xD Like, it's only a gen 1 fire... :mcheh: :mcheh:

Buut I agree on decorating. I think also for parent's it'd be nice to have a space, not full with toys, but a relax space, something that feels comfy to relax, 'cause everything would be stressfull enough. It is often a cost factor, like. Private places here also look super luxurious, but it has a price.

Hahaha, it seems your knuffels have a peter pan complex - they don't wanna grow up xD

Do you need any daycare tickets for your knuffel 8u

Yeah, I'm sure it'd be expensive. The healthcare system is expensive enough, they could at least decorate xD
I'll never forget this show where this woman was in the hospital and her husband was panicking because they were a poor family.
He said something like "I'm surprised you don't have to pay for the air here >8U" and a nurse said they charge for oxygen tanks xD

I'll never be grateful enough for having a free healthcare system.
For me the USA system is hard to imagine.
