Well, we called it a vacation. It wasn't paid.
They closed down the factory for a week so he had to file for unemployment for that time.
And they're apparently doing it again in August. I don't know how they expect people to survive if they keep laying them off a week a month.
I hate capitalism so much.

It's called 'lack of work'. But I don't think there's a lack of work because they often make them do mandatory overtime. Like instead of making them do 30+minutes of overtime EVERY day for weeks at a time, maybe let them keep working those lack of work weeks?
I don't really know. I imagine it's some capitalist bullshit though.
It wouldn't be a big deal but we live paycheck to paycheck and have no safety net to fall back on. My mom helps us a bit but she can't afford much either.

Ahhh i see. Well it does seem kind of strange the way they do things…and i agree, like if you’re going to have overtime, maybe you could switch that overtime and put it during those weeks where there’s “lack of work”? Like how can there be “lack of work” if there’s overtime? 8U maybe the bosses just want a week long break like every month…8U
