I really don't remember how I got it so I cannot say if someone messed with it before I got it

and the cheapest I've seen them is like 15 or so, so they aren't that expensive to get

I'll get one one day.
I'd probably put little clothes on it. So cute.

My older sister used to make clothes for Barbies.
I think it was for her school, because I remember her having to do sketches of designs and stuff. I think she then had to make it.

My grandmother would crochet beautiful clothes for barbies. She'd enter them into the fair and win all the blue ribbons.

I want to try human sized clothes first, then I might make tiny ones. lol.

Well, think of it like this
If you make doll clothing first, it would be a practice for your clothes. But then again, making the clothes for yourself you have more room and are able to see what you are doing. But if you make a mistake you lose more material than if you made the dolls first.

True I suppose.
I don't have any dolls at the moment though.

Dang :/
I don't know why but I still have a bunch of barbies from when I was younger. I should really go through my old stuff~

My mom didn't buy me toys when I was a kid.
I had very very few toys.

I had lots of barbies as a kid. From some point on, I mostly used them to stage the operas I was listening to... I might have been a weird kid ;)
I think I tried making clothes for them sometimes too, but not a terrible lot.
I wonder where they are now? Probably still somewhere in my moms house. I don't think she's given them to my nieces yet, she usually asks me about things that were mine before doing that (even if they really also were my sisters before :D). Most of the time I'm completely fine with it, but I appreciate that she doesn't just ignore the fact that I have childhood memories about these things and might want to keep some specific things.
