I don't always know, but it's a fact people DC out of pettiness.
Either way, when someone DCs - it ruins the whole match.
Some people even play the match while AFK.
Like they just never come back - gone the whole time.

I mean, if there's really no benefits to DCing, then I'm inclined to believe that they DCed because of crappy connection or other reasons. Especially since they would have gained more points by staying.

You don't know the fandom at all - just trust me when I say the majority of DCs are petty. You can go on the forums, watch videos and even ask people and they'll tell you what I have. People get butthurt and DC on purpose.
There's even people who stream the game and DC live on purpose because they find it funny and so do their fans.
These are people that if they lose, they'll send threats to you, cuss you out, call you racial slurs - all because they lost.
It's not that strange to me that they DC out of pettiness or to be assholes xD
I just had someone DC in my last match and it made no sense, so I think they just lost connection. They had just been saved and weren't even being chased. I went to heal them and they just dropped.
I've been doing a gen with someone and they just dropped out of nowhere.
I've also dropped while playing, out of nowhere.
Those are the ones that are usually not on purpose.
To some people, they have a billion points and rare items so DCing means nothing.
I need all the points and items I can get so I never DC on purpose.
Even if I only get 4k points, I need and want them xD
I beat it once. I started to replay it but never finished it.
I bought the International version so I get to try the two that were only in Japan.
I think just in Japan.
The US version didn't have them u8

I was told the penalty stacks, so the more you DC the longer your wait time gets but I don't know.
It's always like...4 minutes for me when I get booted out.
But I don't constantly DC u8
They're the Festivalist and Psychic dresspheres u8

When you play as a team, you play as a team. But sometimes people don't want to play as a team because they're selfish.
They DC on purpose or just don't care to help you.
Even had someone say playing Altruistically makes you a weak player.
Bruh, you're supposed to play as a TEAM.
There's even an Altruism score \>8u/
I've had teammates go all out for me and teammates who just didn't care.
I always care. I always do my best and try to keep my teammates safe.
And with some characters, I get a major confidence boost, so I become even better at the game xD
I'm actually...REALLY good at saving people in stressful situations and I don't know why .__.
Like this one match, the Killer was camping all three of my teammates and I managed to unhook them and we all survived the match.
I'm sure the Killer was like "THIS FUCKING CLAUDETTE (character I was playing) UB<!!"
Yeah, I like her outfit too. Not sure what these do exactly because they weren't in my original game, but I know the Psychic one can make enemies just disappear.
I know that because these guys I watch play the game always use that skill and say "Off to the shadow realm with you \8u/"

But still, doesn't make sense to be a dick at the cost to yourself. I can understand being a dick if it means you get all the points and everyone else gets nothing, but if you also lose out? That makes no sense to me.
Good fucking job, Claudette!
HAHA! That's pretty funny. But do you actually get exp from doing that? I hated moves that made you or your opponent run when I played pokemon because I wouldn't get anything.
