@Fran Dude, I'm opposite with pens. For some reason, it has a stronger sense of finality and less fun than I associate with markers. Maybe it's because one is more of an office supply (that adult feel) and one is an art supply (something I've used more often for fun). I use the terms "office" and "art" loosely, but you know, associations.

Then again, watercolors intimidate me, pfft.

Oooh, you have OCs? I wanna see! I practiced chibi art so I could make full-body refs of all the details of my OCs.

Aye, the best gifts definitely are the ones with personal meaning. *nod* It shows that the people around you know what you like and took the time to buy/make that.

Why are giraffes your favorite?

Wait, you write and world-build?? What? What? I want to see and discuss all this stuff! I am all about this stuff! You're getting me all hyped up at 2AM! D8

My writing/OC/story notes are everywhere --it's like a big mess. XD I have them stored in several places online, in notebooks, on scrap paper, stuffed in boxes, on my phone... it's sad, really. I keep telling myself that I'll organize it all one day, but then I just keep making new kids with new and exciting lives. *facehands*

Aha, I have Bible Study/church notes too, but again, very unorganized. Most are old, since if I wanted to keep that stuff, I put it into my GDocs now. You still see a good sermon point or two on my phone though. Sometimes the pastor likes to leave us a little food for thought.

Little doodles --that sounds so awesome and cute! D:

Do you mean the Pop-figures? I have a couple of those, though none of my shelves. I have two characters from Magic: the Gathering (from back when I worked at a card store), and one Batman one that's a speaker. The only figurines displayed in my room are Mikorin (from Nozaki-kun) and some chibi Reborn characters my brother bought for me at an anime convention one year.

Oh, were the Ursula and Elsa random or chosen?

Aha, you're a Marvel fan?

I feel you on the books. The majority of them are in my closet since I couldn't part with them, even after the move (and to this day, I'll always feel a little sorry and grateful for my friends who had to carry them up and down the flights of stairs to get them to where they are). My favorites are out of the closet and on the shelves, but it's not a sturdy enough shelf to store too many books (hence I decorate it with random stuff as well).

Do you have a favorite author? A favorite series?

I have most of xxxHolic if not all of it too, and I remember collecting some Pita Ten before I gave it away to my cousin. Only Nozaki's made it to my bookshelf when it comes to manga.

Aye, I'd like that! We can swap shelf pics. XD

Tell us which you have, River?

My MTG ones are in their case, but I took out my Batman one (because why buy speakers if I'm not gonna use 'em?) I keep most of my figurines in cases, aha.

Sailor Moon. Nice. XD

@Lady
I actually only have one Pop vinyl figure.
My friend bought it for me a while back. It's Maleficent. o vo
Though .. I wouldn't mind collecting more.
Oh, the things I would do for this one: [my boy]

Omigosh, Lady, your Cardcaptor collection is amazing.
I have a soft spot for Cardcaptors, so I'm just in awe. ❤

Andddd, I'ma go to sleep. Enjoy your food, though!
If you haven't eaten it all yet. c:

@Mikael
That's fair! I guess for me I hardly have markers on me when I doodle?
I would doodle in class or at work, and I'm always using pens or pencils there.

Ah! Watercolors are the worst, haha.
I say that with affection, of course.
I admire watercolor art and often want to use them as a medium,
but frick if they're not the most difficult medium to control.
I don't paint nearly as much as I'd like to, though. I miss it.

I do! Many OCs, not a lot of art for them, though.
I'm sure I've got sketches in notebooks and sketchbooks around here somewhere.
Your chibi art is so cute, by the way. Just throwing that out there.

So, giraffes are my favorite because I have a long neck.
Pfft. I decided many years ago that I could relate to them because my neck was long,
and then I just found them adorable and majestic in their own way.
They're so unique! And somehow cute and terrifying all at once, haha.

I do! Aha, we'll have to save the in depth discussions for another time!
I'll just say that my most treasured story is inspired by Labyrinth, which is my favorite movie.
I originally wrote a fanfiction for it, but it kind of became its own creature, pfft.
Created a huge extended world to the point where I just stopped using source material at all.
I'm considering making a novel out of the world I've created, so I'm dropping the Labyrinth inspiration as much as I can.
But yeah! I'd love to talk about this more with you. <:

Sounds about right. It's hard to be organized!
I'm curious about all your stuff, too.
It seems like you've probably got a lot of good characters under your belt.
Just looking at the pictures you linked me earlier, I want to know all about your characters.
n vn

Oh, awesome!
I don't go to church anymore, mostly because I'm too nervous to find a new church by myself.
But when I read for myself I'll take notes, sometimes.
Personally, I find writing it down by hand makes it all stick a little more.

Heh. <:

As I mentioned to Lady, I do have one. But no, these are smaller?
They're called mystery minis according to google.
So you buy the box and you get one of the figurines of the set randomly.
Oh, that's cool! I know almost nothing about MtG but my friend gave me a card once? Pff.
It was a Chandra card and I wanted it because the art was gorgeous.
That's awesome, though! I don't have any anime figurines, which is honestly a little surprising?
For as long as I was into anime/manga, I really don't have a lot of merch.
I do have a huge Black Butler wall scroll though, which I still hang up, lol.

And the Ursula and Elsa ones were random~
The Ursula one came from the Mystery Minis Heroes vs Villains set I linked to above.
And Elsa came from a Frozen one. I'd love to buy more but those little suckers are expensive.
Like 5-8 dollars or something. Maybe more? I don't remember pfft.

I am! Marvel and DC. Mostly the movies/shows, but I've started reading comics, too.
I've always really loved Superman and Spiderman, but that was like ..
back before I knew what the difference between Marvel and DC was.
Didn't start getting into it all for real until the Avengers hype.

I love collecting books, though I haven't read most of them.
I'm a slow reader in that I get restless when I'm reading? I can only do so much at once.
I'm trying to be better about it, though.
Sounds like you need a strong, new bookcase!
Says the girl that bought hers from Wal-mart. It does the job, though.

For books? Favorite books are The Picture of Dorian Gray and the Two Princesses of Bamarre.
The first because I love the character and Oscar Wilde's great,
and the second because I loved the story for so long as a child/teen.
Pretty solid junior fantasy novel, imo.
What about you? <:

I can't believe you collected Pita Ten.
Sometimes I feel like I'm the only person alive that read it, haha.
I stopped collecting manga a couple years back, so I've still got a few series to finish.
I need a couple more of xxxholic I think, and even though I'm caught up to Black Butler, I still need to buy the books.
If I buy any more though, it won't fit on the bookshelf so I'm not eager to jump into it yet, lol.

OK. OK.
I'm .. I'm gonna go to bed, haha.
It's so late and I spent like ten minutes writing this whole post.
(I can't believe this monstrosity of a post, goodness gracious it's so long, talk about writing novels, lol)
I really liked talking to you, Mikael!
I'll talk to you tomorrow assuming I don't sleep through the whole day.

Night y'all!
o vo

@River: Wow, those are lot of figurines! My brother has a Groot too --one of the pot ones.

@Fran: *high-fives* Dude, I have a Maleficent --tsumtsum that is. XD I got it around last Christmas; she's been one of my favorite Disney villains since I was a kid. (The other one's Scar.) Her concept is just too awesome.

LOL, a Labyrinth pop! I didn't know they even made those!

@I have three different kinds of marker sets in my room (not counting odds and ends). There are Sharpies (for everything), Crayola (they're large and for art), and Faber-Castell (small and for art).

Ah, that makes sense! I have art supplies at work --my manger gave me some color pencils, highlighters, and markers so that I could help her with the seating charts for events, but someone else does that stuff now. Still have the supplies in my desk, though.

Aye, I haven't water-colored in years, but watching folks on YouTube, I definitely want to try

What do you use your OCs for? Most of my OCs are for either art or writing (they don't overlap as often) though I try to sketch out a background for both.

D: Thank you! I'll have to attempt to draw something for you in that style next time then; maybe after someone else draws you in the avatar thread first (to give other folks a chance to play). I like practicing both chibi and non-chibi, but I'm definitely more comfortable with the former.

Nice. Yeah, I think they have powerful kicks too, right? And blue tongues? I have a friend who really likes giraffes too. He liked giraffes and cows (but I've never asked him why). I tend to go more woodland for my favorites; the last name of my username actually refers to a deer, and on Gaia, I'm always constantly wearing antlers. I also like foxes and owls, though. *thumbs up*

You know, despite knowing the plot, I don't think I've ever seen Labyrinth. What I know of the concept for it is interesting though.

Yes, talk about it with me some more! If you want to post walls of texts, you're always welcomed to do so in my hang out! It's OC/story-centric. XD I should probably update it, and since I found some money and items on one of my mules, maybe I should have a little event/contest/game/something with prizes. I haven't really looked at what I have yet though --just took out a bit of FPs to buy myself a new frame.

Still have a lot to do before I even go there, though, tbh. *facehands*

Aha, I get a bit ranty when it comes to my OCs. Especially Ara (the dude with the sisters). I tend to dote on him as much as I make his life unnecessarily difficult. He's just a fun guy to RP, since he's adaptable and extroverted and easy-going.

I've always liked taking notes since I was young, whether it was for church or for a hobby or just something I want to remember. I have notes somewhere about proper archery from one lesson I had, and another from a friend about how to sing properly. If you could see my room, I just have boxes full of papers.

Ah, I can see how it might be tough to find a new church. Have you tried online sermons? I listen to Francis Chan or Reality Church sometimes, since they're both pretty relatable. Reading by yourself is the best, though; it's like learning direct instead of someone else's interpretations or insight. I have a hard time with it personally, but I find that audio helps.

I'm not a fan of the MtG community, but I do like the concept. They have a lot of interesting story for the key characters and it shows in the cards from the sets. It's got a lot of interesting lore that I like, though when it comes to game-play, I'm not quite as invested.

Dude, you got a Planeswalker! That's pretty nice! I have two myself --both green. Planeswalkers basically have the ability to travel through different worlds. It's pretty neat.

Nice. The only posters decorating my walls are from John Green (and associates) and Night Vale.

I've sorta stopped watching superhero movies/shows for a while now, but I've never been heavily invested. I enjoy Batman (the original animated series) and I watched most of Batman Beyond, but not so much else. I am interested in the superhero stories from a cultural POV though; like how American superheroes are same/different from Japanese ones. I also have a few comics 'cause my other giraffe-loving friend is into comics as well and gave me some.

Oh! Oh yeah, come to think of it, I like Deadpool too. (He may be awful, but he's pretty funny.)

Oh, I'm surprised that you're a fan of Superman. For some reason I thought he wasn't as popular anymore (despite his movies, I've had many friends who told me he was too unrelatable as a character. My cousin was a big fan of Smallville, though.)

Dude, if it does the job, that's awesome! I need space before I can put in another book case. Some days I think that the floor in my closet won't be able to hold the weight of all my books. XD; Do you have a Good Reads account? You can keep track of all your books and book-related interests there.

Ah, yeah, I feel restless with some books too. With others, or when I'm in the right mood, I can go through a book within a day or two or three. There are some books I can't put down once I've started.

I feel like... I've read the "Two Princesses of Bamarre".

My favorite series is "Queen's Thief" by Megan Whalen Turner. The first book may be a little slow for some folks, but the characters and world-building is pretty solid, and you get to enjoy the humor and the twists and turns of the story. They're on the fifth book now, I believe, and still going strong. (The plot follows three small countries on a small content and the constant tension among them.)

Another rec would be Dianna Wynne Jones' "Howl's Moving Castle". It's a pretty fun and easy read, and the characters are more likable than the ones in the movie (although I still like the anime quite a bit).

I just read a lot of YA novels... owo

Tbh, I think I only collected Pita Ten because I liked the character concept with those... were they rabbit ears? Rabbit head things? I don't even quite remember, but I know I thought it was cute. I can't even recall the story now, though.

Aye, aside from Sherlock (because I am geek enough to collect Sherlock manga) and Nozaki-kun, I don't collect any other manga anymore.

Yes, go to bed! It's 6AM here, it's too late for me. D8 (Not really, I'm just gonna go pass out.)

I like talking to you too! DX

      Night!

Tell me why I agreed to work Saturday, extending my work weekend to five days straight.
      I'm not accustomed to these long days, I'm gonna be so exhausted. ; u;
On the plus side, getting paid on Friday means more FCs!

      @Mikael
(This response is really long, so I'm putting it in a spoiler, if that's okay!)
      Spoiler
Aw, I love TsumTsums! I don't own any, though.
Maleficent's pretty great. I tried thinking of my favorite villain and I can't choose one.
Scar is definitely up there, though.

That's a nice collection. I think I own two packs of markers, but I couldn't say what brand, pff.
I was buying them primarily for adult coloring books, but I've actually been using colored pencils instead.
I do have quite a few pencil sets, a watercolor set, a chalk/charcoal set, and an oil pastels set. o vo
I haven't used them in a long time but I love experimenting.

I wish I had art supplies at work! What kind of work do you do?
I work in a casino, handling slot machines, so I don't get to draw or write much.
Just kind of daydream when it's slow, haha.

Most of my OCs were created for roleplay. I've created a few for original stories,
and there are some short stories I wrote for class that I'd love to expand on someday.
I haven't done much solely through art, though I've got a couple that I've drawn
after I dreamt them up? Sometimes I'd have pretty vivid dreams and latch onto the characters I made.
I hope one day I'll be able to create a solid story from something like that. <:

I'd love that! I really want people to respond.
Usually I'm patient, but for some reason I'm restless about it.
I think it's good to switch up the style from time to time!
I like to practice with chibi-style art when I doodle even though I usually go semi-realistic.

Absolutely! And their tongues are ridiculously long, which is not a trait I share, thank goodness.
They also fight with their necks which is simultaneously amazing and strange to see.
Woodland creatures are great! I used to live on a street not far from where I live now,
where if I walked along it to my friends' apartment around dusk, there would be does and fawn walking around. <:
They were so cute. Owls are really awesome, too!

Aw, you should watch it! Admittedly, when I watch it now I'm sometimes a little embarrassed.
There are things I'd want done differently in the story, but it's still a wonderful ride.
David Bowie's a treat, of course.

I actually considered just taking this post and putting it over there.
Part of me feels bad for writing so much, but at the same time it's nice to have someone to write this much with! c:
I'll definitely start posting in there, though, so we can really dive into it.
That would be great! I've always wanted to host contests and games,
but I feel that I don't have enough for prizes.
Also, I wanted to say that your new avatar is really nice! I like it.

Everyone has their favorites, heh. I have a few characters I roleplay
and think about more than others. They're not OCs, but they're still important to me.

It can be great to take notes. It's fun to look back through them, sometimes.
Have you ever gone through all of them? To clean them out or reminisce? o:

I haven't! I was listening to some from the church I went to before, but I haven't sought any out otherwise. I'll give those two a listen, though. c:
That's kind of what I feel? I didn't explore my faith until university,
and I still think it best for me to interpret the bible on my own.
Try to focus the conversation on me and God, and when I'm confused I'll ask others what they think.

I don't know a lot about the MtG lore, but I've always been a little curious.
I just adore the art. If I were to collect any cards, it'd be for that, haha.
The only cards I ever collected were Pokemon cards, though.
That's really cool! I don't know anything about Chandra, but now I've learned something. <:

Aw, well that's alright. Batman's pretty great, though admittedly I only recently started loving him.
That's an interesting perspective, though, exploring the differences culturally.
I don't know how many superheroes I know from other cultures, honestly ...
Though I guess in a way I've seen plenty for Japan considering the magical girl trope and kamen rider?

I've always had a soft spot for Superman. I loved Smallville when it was out, so that started it.
I don't .. really like his movies? But I've enjoyed the DCEU interpretation of him for the most part.
Would change some things, but Henry Cavill does a great job portraying him.
I can see why people don't like him though. Might find him bland or cookie cutter.
A lot of people have the same opinion of Captain America, but for whatever reason
I absolutely adore them. It's their do-good optimism, I guess. Pfft.

True, space is important. I'm curious to see how many books you have if the collection's that heavy, haha.
I do! I use it to keep track of what I've finished for the Reading Challenge,
and I've done some giveaways, but otherwise I don't go on it much.
Speaking of books, I actually snagged a couple from Goodwill today.
I bought a book from like ... an adult fantasy series, which is a first for me.
I'm so used to shopping YA.
It seems we're kind of the same with reading then.
I haven't read Queen's Thief, but I'll add it to my list!
I read Howl's Moving Castle in middle school and enjoyed it, but I'd be lying if I said I remembered anything.
It's all good! YA novels are pretty great. Most of my books are YA.

They were! Little rabbit hair .. pins? Ties? They had expressions of their own so they may have been living in some manner.
It's a cute series and the main character will always be a favorite of mine.
The artist is one of my favorite manga artists, though. Super cute style.

It took me literally forever to get this response out, goodness.
I can't believe you went to sleep at 6AM! (Says the girl that went to sleep at 6AM).
      Hope you slept well, though.

          I love groot.

<3 thank you. I hope to get more CCS figures whenever the hell I get a job.

I enjoyed my pasta. It was delicious.
