Today was good. No school because of Veterans Day. I actually got a few things done around the house. I told my hubby that the only problem was that it felt like Saturday, but I have to work tomorrow. Oh well, I'll get a real Saturday after that. :qg:

I've been working on math textbooks. I have forgotten so much.
I knew I couldn't just pull out the last one I ever worked on, I knew I'd have to go backwards first, but.... so far I've had to go back 7-8 years' worth and I'm still getting caught, going, "what was that again?"
Urgh.
It's taking forever.

And it's so frustrating! I knew all this once! Why is it so hard to pick it back up again! It was so clear, back then!

I'm in the middle of a few different things right now but the one I started most recently is Red, White, and Royal Blue. A friend lent it to me while I was waiting in the tattoo parlor for her.

I'm currently reading O que a marea esconde (What the tide hides) by María Oruña.
Closed room kind of mystery... Let's see how it turns out.

So wait.... does a body wash up on the shore and all the clues are hidden by the tide, or is a person missing, and their corpse is what is hidden by the tide?

Nope, it happens in a *checks up in the dictionary* schooner.
A fancy boat.

Annoying rich woman goes into the cabin, locks the door.
She screams. People run to help her, open the door by brute force and find her dead.
Alone. In a closed room. Without a murder weapon in sight.

... huh.

Elaborate trap? Suicide she stages to look like a murder because she's an annoying rich woman?
There are all sorts of interesting possibilities....

Sounds fun!

The case is Agatha Christie-like.
The inspector is not Poirot though. This lieutenant had recently had a miscarriage and is going thru a lot of emotional stuff, so the story has more to it than just the investigation.

Oooh, that does sound like an engaging story!

Are there any characters that make you think, "I hope they did it because I want to see them sent to prison"?
