Well, sure. But that's what budgets are for, so you don't use up your grocery money.

I did have a colleague at my previous workplace who was retired and who worked two days, like 10 hours, a week only to be able to afford to go to museums and buy more books.
She was kinda cute.

Favourite museum I ever went to was the natural history museum in Tuscon, Arizona. (If I remember right.) Had a celtic elk and woolly mammoth in the same room, and so many other animals. I've only been to one art gallery. My sister had to do a paper in college, so we all went with her to browse around. It was... interesting. I definitely preferred the older replicas, like the India section.
One of the free or cheap things I love is parks for walking or hiking. City park, state park, national park, privately owned, all of them are good. Sometimes you have to pay for parking (usually $4-$10 when I've had to pay), and in the case of privately owned national landmarks the admission can get expensive (like
Dismal Canyon to see their glowing worms). Botanical gardens are another fave, but I haven't gotten to go to one in years. I usually hit up Huntsville's gardens here in Alabama, but I'm about ready for another trip to Calloway Gardens in Georgia. Haven't been since like 2009. Oo, speaking of outdoor things, when we were on our dating anniversary trip in Gulf Shores, their state park had a share-a-bike program where you could download an app, scan a QR code on a bike chained at the park, "rent" it, and then ride all you wanted! We covered a good eight miles on trails that day. I think my bum was more sore than my calves because I hadn't rode a bike since I was a kid. Never saw any alligators, but it was something else riding on long wooden walking trail/bridges over swamps and marshes.
Regarding glasses, I once had this really evil pair of sunglasses that had these triangular rubber pieces inserted into the part above the ear. It ended in a very sharp point and wasn't secured, so I was CONSTANTLY getting my temple hairs caught in it and pulled out, because it was rubber. I ended up ripping out the rubber pieces. The extra grip they provided to stay on my face was not worth the pain of my temple hairs getting waxed.

It's said that at one of the biggest museums in the states, you can visit every single exhibit for one minute and not see the whole thing in your lifetime. It's impressive, and also depressing. Too much stuff, not enough lifespan.

Same is said for the Louvres.
Also, there's a huge chunk of stuff hidden away in storage, it's MASSIVE, like 10 times more than what's exhibited.
As a side note, I love natural history museums. I don't know, the way things are exhibited is usually pretty fun and imaginative.

According to Wikipedia, the Louvre has a bit less than 73,000 square meters. It displays around 38,000 objects but owns 615,797.
