Lol, yeah XD

Aww, that's a pity, but hey, food's important, so that was a smart decision :mcargh:
On that note, we had to give up grocery shopping today 'cause Ash had to go to his friends or stuff, so we don't have any food. And tomorrow all shops are closed because our government is stupid and they tell people when to spend time with family and when not to shop... I'm gonna be hungry this weekend and I'm pissed at my grandma and she's all like "do stuff for me" and I just wanted to write and now I'm hungry and pissed. Which, I realize, has a name "hangry" XD

Being hangry is NOT a fun thing, I understand. There's gotta be somewhere open - most retail or grocery stores will stay open on days like that and pay their employees extra because they are working on a holiday. Maybe you can order something in? I hope you find something yummy. :mcheh:

No, everything will be closed tomorrow because it's Sunday... that's what our lovely government full of old religious pricks decided. Last year every first and last Sunday of the month were open for retail. Starting this year tho, only last Sunday of the month is retail. And tomorrow is not the last Sunday of March. So I'm home alone, can't buy all the groceries on my own because my body will break under the backpack full of food and bf won't come back early from his effing game session to do the late grocery shopping with me. So we'll be hungry tomorrow and will have to end up with ordering pizza or chinese (and I can't eat either because it's not good for my belly etc. and it's not fun hearing him say "oh, you're so blown up already!" well dog damn right I'm all blown up, y guts can't process the junk food!) and because I ate one of the two fish filets we had. So I'm like, sure, great idea Ash, let's just not have any food for the entire weekend and then on Monday morning you'll be all surprised that we don't have stuff. Good job, great thinking, such a skilled tactician you are. Maybe you should've at least come home earlier last night to get more sleep instead of getting back at 2 am and sleeping in till 10 am while you know you'll have to get out at noon and you'll have no time for groceries unless you get up early, like 8 am tops. I got home at 3 am, fine, but I also set that effing alarm to wake me up at eight, but what he told me at 8 am? That we'll skip the morning shopping this time. I'm like... ... ... I'm wide awake, I have no trouble getting up and going for food, just move your lazy ass and be a grown up. You didn't get enough sleep so get over it or you'll be hangry with a hangry wife at home for the entire weekend!
Of course, I said nothing, disarmed the alarm and went to sleep because I ain't doing that grocery shopping alone. I'm tiny. We buy like 20 kg of food each week, or even more. I can't pack all that by myself and then lift it all back home, I'm small, okay? I'm a hamster, do my lifting for me dog dammit! >x<*
Spoiler: Angry politics rant ahead
And it's all because the government "wants to support the small businesses" and "don't wnat anyone working on a Sunday, holy day of God, time for spending it with family". But you know what happened? More small businesses fucking died than during normal setup because supermarkets prolonged working hours on Saturdays and Mondays. And where do you go shopping if you work all fucking week and know you only have the Saturday to do your weekly groceries? A fucking supermarket. Small private shops fucking die out. Do employees work less? No, they work longer shifts on Saturdays, with only 150% stake instead of normal hours and 200% of Saturdays as they used to, and then they also work longer hours on Mondays, for normal stakes. And who the hell are some old pricks to tell me to spend the Sunday with my family? Maybe I hate my family! Maybe I don't have any family! Maybe my family and my weekends are not your fucking business!
They say they want to do good but they don't think about the consequences, just the short-term ones. Their way of making people want kids? Give them money for each kid! Great, but then they didn't think that they'll need ginormous pile of money for that. They don't have the funds. How to get them? Taxes, bitches! So, it's either people who work honestly and pay taxes and don't get any money for kids, because they earn too much money per person in the household, or people who don't think they have to work because the government is stupid enough to provide them with all the money they need (money for kids just for having them, unemployment money, this and that and somehow they can make a living without any parent working, it's a fact), third case scenario is both parents work for the lowest pay and have two kids, but they only get money for the second one because they earn too much (with 2 lowest salaries!!!). So, we have a rich family and poor family who all work properly, and then one family when nobody works beacuse who gives a shit when the money comes anyways.
And now this: our taxes are linear, which means all people pay the same percentage of tax, no matter the income. So the rich family doesn't really care, but the poor families, they fucking notice.
But the government needs the funds to give out money, so the prices will go up. The prices are up and the poor families who honestly work but for shit money, they remain poor, because guess what: food is expensive. they couldn't afford it previously, but the government gave them money for kids, great, but the prices also went up, so now we're back to square one.
It's madness, I tell you, this country is a mess. It's not the same kind of mess as the rest of Europe, but it's still a mess. Our ruling party will raise whole generations of people who don't think they ought to work, because the government will give them the money for free. We already don't have enough young workforce to work for the people on retirement. Imagine what will happen in 15-20 years, when half of the society is unemployed because why bother? They will up the age bar for retirement again. People already die before even reaching it. What is the fucking point of all this?
All this because some idiots want to play PRL 2.0.
Sorry, I'm mad. It's some bat shit injustice and clearly brainwashing and it's stupid and it aches me. I wish my people were smarter...

Wow, that sounds very intense. I remember you are from Europe but I cannot remember exactly where. I don't know how any normal person who works Monday - Friday would be able to get any shopping or chores done with only one day to do it. I understand why that would be so frustrating for you!

It's Poland. Our ruling party is pissing me off, they're idiots. And my grandma is like "well, at least they give something to the people" and I'm like, nope, they are ruining everything, and it's not even about the non-retail Sundays anymore.

Anyways, it's safe here in Poland, so it's not as terrible as the rest of Europe but dammit, it's frustrating to watch them do this to the stupid sheep that are Poles :mcheh:

Oh! I'm surprised we haven't heard anything about it in the news but it seems lately all they talk about in the news is if some type of violence happens.

I'm partially Polish! My grandmother has a Polish background. Along with a ton of other cultural stuff in the background there.

Have you lived there your whole life? :mccute:

Yeah, I think it's just not as interesting as cataclysms and school shootings and terrorist attacks etc. :') Plus it's totally local drama, so why would anyone else in the world care XD

Why am I not surprised, we Poles are like rats, we get everywhere XD What other cultural backgrounds? :D It's always interesting to hear this kind of stuff.

Yeees, born and raised in Warsaw. So I'm totally Polish :mcheh: I love my country but as a very smart Pole once said, the people are whores XD And politicians are the worst, but I don't think that's any exception, it's the same for any other country.

Well, from what I have heard within my family, I consist of: Canadian, American, Polish, German, Dutch, Scottish, Irish, and English. :mcheh:

Born and raised in Canada. Have visited some of my American family over the years. Would love to visit all the other places I supposedly have a connection with as well. :mccute: :qh:

Wow, what a mix :mclaugh:
As far as I know I might've had some Hungarian ancestor not too far into the past but I'm not entirely sure. That's what my grandparents told me and sometimes I think it might've been some fairytales XD But idk.

If you ever decide to come to Poland, don't visit Warsaw unless you want to get depressed in our museums. The most interesting things here are about the WWII :mcheh: Anything else isn't really worth seeing. Or if you're into clubbing, I've heard that's decent in Warsaw xD Other than that the cities worth seeing are Kraków, Gniezno, Gdańsk... basically any other city than Warsaw is more interesting ;P And things like Biskupin where there are some remnants of an old ...uhh.. burgh, the dictionary says? I hope it's the right word :mcargh:

Hello, I hope you don't mind if I join in this thread. I'm an oldie returning and feeling very out of place, but this thread caught my eye and seems like the kind of place I'd really enjoy to come hang out in. :qh:
