Julia listened to him and nodded,"Well...as long as theres no trouble doing this..." she said, imagining the trouble that could happen. Even though it probably wouldn't be too bad since she barely ever did anything wrong before.

Caelum smirked before pulling her into the corridor of food paintings where, thankfully, there were no watching eyes. He brought out his wand and tapped it on Julia's head where she should feel something like a raw egg being cracked over her head and travelling down her body to make her invisible. The charm worked more like a chameleon did by taking the color and texture of the things around them and when he saw Julia start to disappear, he smiled. "Oh how brilliant I am." he muttered to himself.

He took her hand in his before she completely disappeared from his sight and started to lead her towards the dungeons. Every student knew where the dungeons were, but only the Slytherins knew where the entrance to the common room was. The dungeons were cold and dark, as expected, and Caelum stopped in the middle of it only to turn towards a wall and whispered the word 'basilisk' with a smirk playing on his lips.

The stones on the wall started to shift just like the entrance in the Leaky Cauldron and opened up to a long and low underground room lined in the same stones they used for the dungeons. Green orbs of light floated near the ceiling and at the end of the room was a fireplace with the portrait of a serpent adorned above the mantle. Green light shown through the underwater windows, faint due to the surface of the lake being frozen, which gave the room, although grand, a cold atmosphere.

There was no one else in the room and Caelum was sure that the first years were somewhere else in the castle and led Julia past the leather sofas, cupboards, tapestries, and the wide collection of skulls towards the dormitories. "This place is probably the coldest of all the common rooms, but the squid passes by the windows sometimes so we've got that going for us." He joked as he watched the disillusionment charm wear off of her. He opened the door to his shared room to reveal the same greens, silvers, and blacks of the common room decorating the place. He reached his trunk where he stored the gifts before turning to look at her again. "Fancy a game of wizarding chess?"

Julia let him lead the way after feeling egg drip down her head and body. She looked around quietly and in wonder as they entered the Slytherin common room. When they were in the dorms, she felt relieved as the spell wore off,"Sure. I haven't played in a long time though." She was still a bit worried about being caught here and in trouble.

Caelum led her towards one of the tables inside the room and opened a compartment under it which released the chess pieces that arranged themselves on the board. "Don't worry about anyone catching us, love. If anyone steps inside the dungeon, I'll know. I've set up a few alarm spells here and there since the start of Christmas break. And if the alarms do go off, there's still the disillusionment spell. If it's someone who can see through the spell ..." he paused as a smirk grew on his face, "I know of a few other ways to get out of the dungeons without going through the front door."

"I actually brought you here so you can know a little more about me and how a Slytherin mind works. What kind of environment do I live in for most of the year? It's dark, gloomy, and cold, but comfortingly familiar. What kind of fabric are my pillow cases made of? They're made of mulberry silk." He looked to the board and commanded one of the pawns to move to D5. "Have you ever wondered why Slytherins are so proficient at making potions or casting heating charms? Why we excel so much at using others, lying through our teeth, or have a great prospect of becoming the next dark lord extraordinaire?" He chuckled as he shook his head. "I find myself wondering about how the other houses behave in their natural habitat as well and why they're also so good at things we aren't as proficient as."

Julia listened to him speak quietly, studying the board. She wasn't all that skilled in wizard chess so she knew this game would end badly for her. Not that she minded really. She made her move and looked up at him,"O can understand why some Slytherins seem so gloomy..." she said quietly,"It is kind of depressing when it's something your not use to." She looked over at him,"I am kind of nervous...." she admitted, "I'm nervous of how things will be once school is back in session from break and how people will react to us dating...I know Amira and Olivia will be happy for us and Aren and Frank will be too..." she smiled,"Amira told me she was going to ask Aren out over Christmas break."

"And I am sure Aren will be shoving the fact that a girl asked him out in our faces. I worry about him sometimes. To him, the ideal gift is a ton of chocolate frogs." Caelum smirked but then looked deeply into Julia's eyes, completely forgetting or ignoring their game of chess. "I don't mind it. The whole school finding out, I mean. Ever since I- ever since that happened, I just don't care what the Slytherins think anymore, much more the rest of the student body. But-" he cut himself off, looking down at his hands, suddenly interested in studying his pale skin. "I understand if you don't want them to know. I have my ways. I know I have a bad record and it will be a bad reflection on you if they find out."

Julia looked over at him as his spoke. She made him life his face to look at her,"I don't care about what they say either." She said gently but firmly,"Let them think what they like. I just dont want you getting hurt again." She leaned forward and kissed him gently.

He did not expect it. He didn't think she'd kiss him, but she did. And after closing his eyes and feeling his heart flutter, he left cloud nine and a smirk played on his lips. "I don't think we'd have to worry about me getting hurt again. I've made sure of it. So unless some great calamity happens, I don't think anything's going to happen to me soon." But he sighed and held her hands between his. "I've got two body guards, a few new minions here and there, and a whole arsenal of spells I shouldn't know about. I have nothing to fear. But I'm afraid that someone would go after you or your friends whenever I'm not there."

Caelum's eyes widened at an idea and his hand clenched at his chest, wrapping around the amulet underneath his clothes. He pulled it out to reveal the amulet of protection that his mother sent: a silver snake wrapped around a pillar. "You should wear this instead."

Julia shook her head,"No." She said gently,"I wont take that, not when your mother sent it to keep you protected." She smiles at him gently,"Dont forget, Mr. Malfoy. I'm not just some damsel who cant defend herself." She said that playfully, letting him know she was playing. She got up and went over to him, hugging him gently,"Besides, I have the weirdest luck. Remember?" She looked at hum,"I'll be alright. Your not the only one who knows spells they shouldn't. "

Caelum pouted as she hugged him then with his chaser reflexes put the necklace around Julia's neck with the amulet resting a few inches below the heart pendant he gave her. "I can always easily find another. So you'll be wearing that until I find one for you. Deal?" He held her shoulders as the stern look on his face told her that she couldn't say no. "What could go wrong during the break, anyways? There are more teachers than students and none of the students that remained here would dare try something on me. I will owl my mother later tonight and I'll probably wake up with ten amulets by my bedside. So just wear that until we find one for you."
