I see, what's your condition then?
Oh I still read without glasses. Yes, it tires me a bit but wearing glasses while I haven't wore them in a while makes me tired as well as my eyes gotta get used to them.

Oh hang on, I read Memnoch the Devil. You probably wouldn't like that one. It was really ... odd? I can't phrase how I feel about it.
Spoiler
He meets Jesus and takes Veronica's veil with him.
It was weird.

Camaraderie is very normal in spoken conversation as well but loquacious I have yet to hear. I sometimes doubt myself as well D: but it's usually I who look at people confusingly.

Plaid as in the pattern right? It's P-lad like laddie lads. I think either would work but not many people here say played. Well I can't say the word myths and it comes out as miffs.

@Haze
You have to get your eyes acquainted to every new prescription. It's a pain but a lot better for your eyes than straining them.

I had cataracts so my natural lens were remove and replaced with monofocal ones. Usually elderly people get bifocals which are a softer material, the muscle in the eye can contract and extend the lens to facilitate habituation (which is where you eyes exchange between focus on objects close up and nearby). However, I am younger and this lens needs to last my life time or until I'm older and I can get it replaced. The bifocals tear after a decade or two, these need to last at least 5 more decades. It's a hassle having multiple pairs of glasses but I'm used to it now.

@Poshi

That was the one I dropped. It disturbed me --something about a scene with a demon statue. Ugh.

But plaid looks like "played"! DX Though I know you're right.

Aha, some other words that throw me off when I hear them is when people say mature as "ma-toor" instead of "mat-shure" (I'm not even sure if it's two different words or two different pronunciations). And when people say the "H" in "herb". XD

You guys use fancy words!
I need to expand my english vocabulary as I keep repeating the same few words all over >.>

@Poshi
Ah, I see. Multiple glasses sounds like a small price to pay for a good eyesight. As humans we generally rely much on the things we see.

Spoiler
I don't really mind you rambling XD It's refreshing that I can finally keep up a convo with someone here because most of the time I can only go online for a few minutes then go out to do something. Also, isn't it like insanely late for you there?

I also appreciate characters that are well made. I've always thought of Mary Sue characters as flawless and having flat personalities but not really as overpowered. I also love some good character developments.

To be honest, I lean towards characters who are more black than white. Protags who aren't just lawful good but those that have done bad things not for the sake of being villainous but out of circumstance.

Hmm...not much of a particular myth but rather a particular kind of mythology? I'm in love with greek mythology. I've read a book that compiled all the short stories and gave brief backstories for each god/goddess. I've also read the odyssey (the first classic I finished if it's considered a classic which is amazing because classics bore the heck out of me) out of my own will too! I also appreciate fanfictions written for the god/goddess where they put them in more detailed situations and the authors still retain the facts of greek mythology while putting their own stories.
@Haze
Same. I haven't been putting the words I picked up from novels to good use. Not that simple english is bad but it gets boring.

Also, I just managed to finish the hair of this drawing I've been trying to do for ages. Finally.

Yeh, the demon statue was creepy. SURPRISE. It was Memnoch lol

You would expect it to be played wouldn't you because 'aid'. Add the pl-.

Now I'm really confused. mature? There's a 'h' where's the h? ma-chure? I think that's how I say it. MACH-URE?

Indeed. I have never valued my eyes so much since I went blind. It was really hard.

Ohhh. I'm interested in learning Shinto mythology too! But it seems like it's such a big mythology and my free time is *looks at projects* nonexistent.

Thank you Haze~

I was temporary blind for a day (had a real bad allergy reaction) and it really freaked me out. I'd be depressed if it lasted but would eventually learn to live with it. Same goes for when I couldn't walk for a month, I always took my legs for granted but these one-month period was one of the worst in my life. At least now I learnt to take better care of my body.

@Jul
Know the feeling, but I'm sure we will eventually find the time for that c:

@Haze

Reading helps with that. I find myself being more coherent and writing better when I read more often. Otherwise my communication devolves to potato levels. XD

@Julianne1122
Spoiler
Who needs sleep when you can have donuts?

Actually, I don't work tomorrow, so to hell with sleep. Also, I made tea for myself during dinner time, and when my mom came home, she brought me Thai Iced tea. So I'm very caffeinated.

Yeah, flawless or overpowered.

Oh, like Jean Valjean in Les Miserables? I get that. Yeah, I think a well-written character would've made mistakes in their life. The degree of it really depends on the story, though.

I like Greek myths too. I have a character who's a modern anemoi (wind spirit). He's a descendant of one of the wind deities (in my story, all the wind spirits are, and they're broken up into clans or some such). He's currently living a "human" life as a museum archivist in a city where supernatural beings live in human disguises among mortals.

If you like Greek myths, I remember enjoying "Sirena" and "The Great God Pan" by Donna Jo Napoli. Her take on Hansel and Gretel was interesting too --I think it was called "The Magic Circle" or something like that.

Do you have a favorite god or goddess or hero?

@Poshi

Yep, and yep! XD I say "mature" in the same way.
