I found the announcement. It dropped after September. So September was still 5 and then October was 3. Wait I got that wrong. The announcement is at the beginning of the month. So august was 5 and September 3. Anyway. You get it ^^°

I don't think there is another requirement.
I think what firn had been trying to say was that it gotten to easy to place and win in the contest because of the overall less posting. Especially place 4 and 5.

Or there's a large gap enough that it looks weird?

There were months where people with less then 100 posts placed 4th and 5th so I get where firn is coming from ^^°
