A horrid time of the year for a power outage. DX

Chocolate milk is absolutely decadent when you haven't had it in a long time.

Power outages are the worst.

We had one a few weeks ago, but it was at 2am so most slept through it. :}

We have had 3 or 4 outages in the last couple of months. It's been pretty bad this year. We kind of expect them in the spring with the bad thunderstorms, but not in the middle of summer with nothing going on weather-wise.

That are a lot of outages indeed.
Do you have a generator or do you have to wait. :}

Well, right now we don't have a generator. We used to have one (still do) that would power the whole house. It hooked on the back of Dad's tractor and hooked into the electric meter on the house. But, the power co. changed the meter and now we can't access it to plug in the generator.

Okay that is a straight downer there. Also no means to hook up a converter between the two, or does the new meter simply have no ports what so ever? :}

Where I grew up in the boonies, it seemed like our power ONLY went out on beautiful, calm, sunshiny days. Mom would joke that a butterfly must have touched the power lines.

Raccoons like to play with the power poll transformer thingers and fry themselves, but also causing power outages..

But wind... storms.. heat.. i swear anything will cause them -w-

They've actually locked the meter so we can't open it to plug in the generator.

=/ that sounds illegal...

People died in texas a few years ago because they lost power during a winter storm... since it's texas, no one was prepared for it.. so no power generators....

so locking those should be illegal >:x
