Kingdom of Knuffel

Chibi art is one of my favourite kinds of art, so I guess realism isn't the most important for me but I do admire realistic art. I think it's actually the Superhero comic style of drawing that I don't like much- but then again I like that style in pop art I don't know lol.

All my tattoo's are in a realistic style and I like to paint it too. It's a matter of material for me. I do a lot better with brushes when it comes to realism. Like watercolor and acrylic. Copics and digital painting is more my way to do Manga and Comic. But I have to admit, I'm just bad with my graphic tablet... It's soooo difficult to paint realistic with digital programs I adore the one's who can do so.
I have to try try try and try again, till it works. And so long, my brushes on paper do great xD

I can't use a tablet at all! It feels like re-learning hand-eye coordination, or trying to learn a totally different kind of hand-eye coordination for me. That's why the only kind of art I can do is traditional, and even then I'm bad with paints, so it's just sketching and inking an outline.

You're a tattoo artist? That's so cool!

@Nan same tbh. It's easier to develop a style until it's your comfort zone.

I love chibis, they can have whatever kind of style, those are just meant to be cute.

Coloring with anything else than colored pencils is challenging for me.
I am bad with brushes.
And have to figure myself into copics again.^^

Hadnt touched them for a looooong time. (over a year I suppose)

@Mynah unfortunately I'm not an tattoo artist. Sry it came out wrong xD I'm tattooed. Indeed I applied as one when I was younger but never got the chance to really became a tattoo artist :( It was a big dream that was shattered.
I have to agree with re-learning hand-eye coordination...

@Jelly same! I can only colour with colour pencils and maybe colour gel pens if they don't bleed into the page, but ofc I can't shade with those. And yeah, all the love for chibis

@Pinguin Aww I'm sorry I hope you've lived out other dreams that make you happy, and that you will!
Yeah omg the re-learning hand-eye coordination feels almost impossible for me. I know it takes practice, but in a single session I never feel progress, even if that's just to begin with. it's demotivating.

I didn't sleep last night so I made a second thingie :v it's Lyera!

Btw, I have a lot of trouble blending colors with photoshop, for this one I used Clip Studio Paint Pro (ironically a photoshop brush in it) and SAI. I adore SAI's brush engine, it blends colors really easily so shading looks really smooth very fast.
The way I got into digital art was with coloring my scanned drawings with a mouse, so using a pen wasn't that much harder.
