Image Ya that drawn out is kinda sad.
Lets just hear who is gonna be on the ballot by November
so we can try to cope with our futures.
I just hope that California is over soon.
Or did it happen already and I miss it?

Well, we're currently getting a preview of the general as Trump and Clinton both try to focus on each other as opposed to their primary opponents.

As you might expect, Trump's chosen the most sexist possible line of attack against Clinton, saying things like she wouldn't be winning if she wasn't a woman, and that he can't stand her shouting--another common dog whistle that implies that a women who raises her voice is too emotional to function, which is completely absurd.

There are so many legitimate criticisms of Clinton. I cannot stand when people just attack her for being a powerful woman. But I know it's only going to get worse...Trump has demonstrated so many times that he is intimidated by powerful women and being intimidated makes him vicious. He doesn't seem to view women as actual people, so this whole "women's card" scuffle is probably going to end up being a high point...

I really hope that having a California primary that actually matters will force even the GOP candidates to talk about climate change, given how severe the drought and wild fires have been in that region. It's hard to get people who benefit from the status quo in regards to energy and environmental policy to actually address climate change, especially since like most scientific matters the reality doesn't match the Hollywood image of doom and gloom and therefore its hard for some people to take it seriously, but its an issue of paramount importance. Even having a public debate between the deniers and the vast majority of the world would be beneficial.

And another thought about the current Clinton-Trump brawl, it really shows how destructive sexism and misogyny is to a society, when people are so blinded by their bigotry they can't even recognize legitimate problems because they're too worked up over someone's gender.

So very true Pwale.
I saw on twitter about the whole woman card thing.
It was trending and I was laughing at alot of them.
Women using it as a way to degrade themselves to make
a joke about it. I rather liked it. At least they were taking
a stand against his attack and used it against him. Too bad
there is too much sexism and misogny in this world and
country that I have no idea how it's gonna be fixed.

But not the is going to approve a bill I think it was
for women to register for the draft. One guy said if they
want the same rights as men then they can do the same
services to the country (something along those lines)
and that kinda upset me. There are a bunch of women
in the miliary already and there is also too much rape
and abuse in the military and it's not even all focused
on women. Even men in the miliary have reported being
raped by their male upper men (I forgot the word).

>.> Not sure how this will all turn out. My brain has been
dying lately from stress and this is one of the few things
that actually makes it focus now.

My feelings on the draft issue are this:

I do not support the draft. I do not support it now, I do not support it in the past and I will never support it in the future. A draft has one purpose and one purpose only--to create bodies for the slaughter, to overwhelm the enemy through sheer force of numbers.
People say, do you really want to send your daughter to the front line? Of course not. And if I had a son, I would not want to send him either. If the draft is so horrible that we need to protect our girls from it, then why the fuck aren't we protecting our boys?

Either the draft is wrong for EVERYONE, or it is acceptable in which case women don't get to shirk their responsibilities to their country.

Again, I think the draft is wrong and that no one should ever be required to sign up for military service unless they really believe in it, but if it does exist then let it be fair, at the very least.

I completely agree with you. I am against war
in all forms. I know sometimes it could be considered
needed but sometimes it goes too far and too many
things that need to be talked about don't. Like the War in the East.
There is too much crap going on with that one.

Alot of the responses for it were interesting to say the least.
That we are now equal, how will the feminists think of this.
And other bull crap the guys know nothing about at all.
Some said they will not be sending their daughters and
granddaughters to it either. And the article said it might
take years and years to get it enforced and something
about them doing this for more funding for the military.
Something along those lines if I'm correct.

The part of this story that boggles my mind is the fact that the bill was introduced by a Republican who thought no one would ever vote for it. He designed it as a poison pill, expecting his fellow committee members to vote against requiring women to sign up for the draft. The very idea was, to him, so ludicrous that he thought he could expose the hypocrisy of his fellow committee members--as in, oh, you believe in gender equality? But you don't think women should be drafted? Hypocrite!--but in the end it was his misogyny that was exposed.

I mean, how dumb can you be? Does he not understand what gender equality means?
