Lazer pointer is a dot on the floor, they don't see YOU holding the toy to play with them. And when they play with toys, again you need to use a small toy like a mouse or something and move it around. If its just them and the toy, and you aren't part of it, they aren't playing with you.

It's why I use my fingers as toys. It's so my new cats and kittens know I'm no threat, that I'm fun to play with. But you also got to teach them that it's bad to play rough when you do this, and not every time is play time.

So if you don't want to use your fingers, use a plushie. It's to socialize them with you. Show them you're safe to be around.

Not all the time. Only when playing. But like I said, you can use a fish plushie too. Something you hold onto and wiggle around, something that shows that you want to play and befriend them.

That is why I said to use a plushie.

I'm use to cats scratching and biting me, but I also keep my cat's claws trimmed so it doesn't hurt as much.

it can be tough. especially with ones who were traumatized by claw clipping before. >A<

I was talking about Kuromi. Who ever had her before me, cut her claws too short, cut the quick. Didn't help that later, a claw got stuck and tore off and now grows back in super thick and a bit warped.
