I am reading "The vampire chronicles" series by Anne Rice,
and I am currently on the second book "The vampire Lestat", in which Lestat is telling his life story.
You probably all know the movie adaptation of the first book "Interview with a vampire", in which Louis tells the story, how Lestat turned him into a vampire.
Now,
Lestat, woken up during the 80's, and also becoming a Punkrock-Leadsinger, discovers the Interview Louis did and decides to write down his own story. (which is by far more interesting).
I am at the part, where he is telling the part of his history, in which he turned his dying mother into a vampire.
They are also being followed by an unknown entity, that seems to be a vampire, too, but a different type of vampire. It's still shrouded in mystery.
The next book in the series is "the queen of the damned" which also has gotten a movie adaptation in the past, and I am looking forward to it so much! :mcsquee:

I think I read those ages ago when my cousin was moving to Louisiana for a year during her geology studies. There are movies of them? Are the movies good?

The first movie, Interview with the Vampire is really awesome! One of my faves. Queen of the Damned is a little cheesy but I still love it. Good vampire movie.

I'm currently reading Dead Men's Trousers by Irvine Welsh. I've been reading it for a few months now and I'm not overly far into it to be honest. I need to get myself back into the habit of reading a little each day otherwise I'll never make my way through my books at this rate :qhehe:

I've not heard of it, but if it's taking you months to get through that doesn't sound like it's very appealing? Would you actually recommend it or is it just something you're stubbornly trying to get through even if it doesn't engage you very much?

I'm still (currently) trying to read through "Baltimore" but I'm not really much into this genre (I actually picked it up on Armistice Day because it's a unique take on WWI with that fantasy / fairy tale element, but the grimmer the book the less I appreciate it, so....), and am contemplating putting it down. I also just got hold of the first volume of a graphic novel called "Monstress", by Marjorie Liu and Sana Takeda and kind of want to try that instead.

I've gotten partway into a reread of "The Wizard of Karres" (which is a fan-created sequel to "Witches of Karres", but the fans in question were all three professional writers so I figured it was worth giving a second chance to) and have set it aside in favor of some Michael Gilbert books. I've read some of his stuff but there are a number of books I hadn't come across before, so this one ("The Empty House") is new to me, still.

Not sure which one I'll finish first!

(I've finished Wizard of Karres first. Makes sense; rereads are always faster. Now I've got a tiny bit left of The Empty House and have also picked up "The Invisible Library")
