overstimulated? xD;; what does that mean?

Ah. Ok then? Lol I don’t really get it lol.

I get over stimulated when there's too much loud noise around me. I also get over clocked when it's very quiet. I like a good medium volume lol.

Hrm... Imagine you are being poked from every direction by a hat pin and it won't stop? That weird fried-nerve feeling when you've gotten a full-body electric shock? I dunno, it's like my brain suddenly stops tuning out stuff and decides to hyper-focus on every last sensory input I'm getting in an effort to isolate and numb the input. It's very raw. The sensitivity difference for me is how things feel when you touch them with your hands (normal) vs. when you're missing skin on parts of your palm and fingers, and then you have to handle dirt, grit, hot water, soap, and chemicals without a bandaid or anything other protection and the pain won't lessen or feel like the healthy fingers because you have skin missing on the bad finger (overstimulated).

Noise is my biggest trigger, particularly a chaotic cacophony of noise when somebody is constantly trying to get my attention and ask me questions. Fun side effects can include dizziness, confusion, nausea, headaches, migraines, body aches, and anxiety attacks. Smells, touch, and lights can cause it for me too, especially those horrendous LED headlights and building lights that are everywhere now. The strobes on fire drills spaz my brain SO BAD, it's one reason why I quit working at the hospital. The fire alarm system would go off every week and I couldn't function while it was flashing.

I don’t like noise or lights when I sleep? I guess that’s one thing I’m sensitive about. That and I always get the urge to put hand cream on every single time my hands get wet. Like the moment I wash my hands or have to wash dishes or ingredients, I’m like compelled to put cream back on every time. Even tho I KNOW that my hands will get wet again very soon. Lol

Yeah, I like things really still at night too. I've had to learn to get used to my husband's fan, but when he has to work nights, I leave it off. The noise and wind both keep me up.

The cream application is more of a compulsion, but a useful one since you won't get dishpan hands! Lawdy, those hurt...

Yeah my tower heater and my fan, the sounds aren’t loud but I get annoyed too lol.
But I still have to use them or I’d be too hot or too cold lol.

Yeah sometimes I have to stop myself from using cream if I know i have to handle other ingredients or food. Bc no one wants to eat food that tastes like hand cream lol.

Whenever I'm cooking, I tend to rinse my fingers constantly between ingredients. The towel gets soaked quickly. XD
