Hummm I dunno, I like orange eyes better? Mainly cuz the black eyes seem so soulless lol. XD like creepyyy. Dunno if it would look better with an orange pupil within all that black.

True true... I like the orange eyes better too. Maybe I can work in black in the evolutions there *__*

Well a monarch butterfly is orange with black…XD
And the first one is too black, at least for the eyes. Which is why if you slowly added in the orange, it will be good for the different level stages. XD but yeah, i still prefer the orange eyed one.

I personally like the orange one better. Look more butterfly-ish to me.
The black one is more like a fly? Eyes stand out, it's true, but somehow it feels too dark for a butterfly. Maybe it's just me.

I think I'll end up doing black hair, orange eyes, and the black+orange dress. So combine the two XD

I have a vision for how to evolve it to be an intricate butterfly design. It's always hard to balance simplicity with interesting-ness for the first stage though

Well, because we can peek into WK before buying them I've never worried about them being "too simple" if the next stages are interesting enough.

the first stage of a knuffel is always simple and adorable so if you're happy with the transformation through the stages, i'd say don't worry about the first stage

I just keep collecting wild knuffels to be honest. I don’t always care what the final result is. XD
