"Welcome to Japan!" is all I can tell you.
They're sometimes so focused on stupid rules that they forget everything else. Like, people were getting yelled at for dying their hair but not for using their phones in class.

I'm SO glad I escaped from there.

Like anywhere else, Japan isn't perfect

There was someone I was talking to whose little sister expects Japan to be like anime
Which is, from what I've heard, a lot like Japanese exchange students expecting the states to be like, oh, I don't know, those teenage sitcom shows
Bound for inevitable disappointment when discovering that's not true

Still like to visit someday

To be fair, everyone expects the US to be like the show XD
And anime has true things as well. Unfortunately, sometimes you don't realize how unpractical something is until you live it.

That being said and while my life isn't anime I'm pretty happy I've moved here.

Yeah, sometimes it's better to visit than to live

Biggest thing, I think, is happiness. Second, affordability

I wouldn't say Tokyo is affordable. Not at all. Especially if, like me, you like fresh fruits and vegetables.

I credit it to my husband for his hard work at finding a good job back in the days when he was looking back a long time ago. Thank you dear <3
The countryside is affordable though, but there's no job.

That being said I didn't plan on staying nor on finding a husband when I came here ^^ Life's strange sometimes.

I don't complain though. I'm the happiest I've been in years.

Running away from somewhere bad and ending up with a person you never expected to meet, much less be with? Yeah, I imagine many would be happy with that too
