My favourite student misbehaviour/loophole is "well, we may not can reference Wikipedia, but nobody said we can't use the references at the bottom of Wikipedia pages!"

wow that's like.....looping through the loophole. lol

Correcting referencing legit websites/articles (like the bottom of wikipedia) is honestly a rare skill nowadays. A lot of them can barely use Google now without relying on that AI function or those quick tabs... So sad :(

AI is the thing to be usedd these days. Altho personally, I don’t really use AI. I use google translate? And like calling out to our google nest when we want to listen to the radio lol.

AI definitely has its benefits and uses! It's just worrying when children are relying on AI and depriving themselves of chances to grow and develop their personal critical thinking skills. I feel like that's going to have long-term impacts :(

Well I’m still old school where i like to do research on my own. Even if I’m using google to search lol. I’m sure just asking an AI to do it would be easier. Less fun or interesting tho lol.

Yeah I've been forcing my students to do that. They're currently working on a research report and whining so much about *gasp* the horror of having to take notes and write a report by hand

On a happier note the weather is finally getting warm! It's nice to wake up to daylight LOL

My grudge against AI comes primarily from how exceptionally useless chat bots are, whether they answer the phone or are the text/message chat on websites that I know make enough money to hire real people. That, and, generative AI with all it's lovely plagiarism and copyright violations mixed in with the 18 fingers and 453 teeth, and how Google and Facebook have been in multiple lawsuits for years over privacy violations and have found another way to bypass privacy laws for "research purposes to train their AI".
