I just have a small head/face in general xD

I get the feeling some of these would suit me but in a smaller version.

Oh I wear lots of colour, mostly blues though

Big frames aren't good for small faces, they make you look funny >_>
I remember looking for frames, the so called "cat eyes" or "butterflies" - very pretty but not for my tiny little freakin face :mcsweat:

I'd have to see you in them all to say anything :mcheh:

Do you know your face shape River?

It's more dependent on the shape of your face. So yours is probably round? Or you have more width than length, then the larger frames would look strange.

My face shape is oval so I can get away with most styles, just the problem is I have a lot of length but no width so a lot of glasses are too wide for my face. I love cat eye! I have a lot of cat eye sunnies.

They all look nice, but gosh, why are glasses always so expensive? I need new ones too... probablay will just get new glasses into my old glass frame.

I've once learned that frames for glasses are the item where the discrepancy between selling price and material/production costs is the biggest in the whole world. It always upsets me so much, considering glasses are primarily a medical item that people need and not just a fashion accessory. :mcshout:

I think my face shape is heart or oval.

I want nerdy chic office type glasses.

Though like rounded rectangle ones that are bit bigger than my current purple pair. Aka like some of the ones I chose in that list.

Firn - yeah :( I hate that they're so expensive. But this is still cheaper than my local optometrist. xD the pair I looked at there was $413 for the frames with my lenses (with UV coat).

I'm not too sure what nerdy chic glasses are but the ones you picked seem very common to me.

@Firn
Next time you're in Japan get some glasses? I hear they're really cheap over there for frames+lenses packs. I really like the glasses from OwnDays and idk if you have them in Germany.

They have this store in Japan too and it's even cheaper. I couldn't do my eye test in Japan because I don't understand nor speak Japanese 'orz plus I have multifocals which were so expensive ;-;

Thanks for the tip, but sadly I haven't been to Japan in 5 years and probably won't be going there for quite a few more years. Not only don't I have the money for such an expensive journey, but also no one to take care of the dogs so we can only go to places where we can take the dogs with us.
But I think buying frames and lenses won't be so easy in Japan. Could you even get them there without a prescription? And it usually takes some time till they are completed with your glasses and we never staid in Japan for very long.

That's a shame but in case you ever go, that's a thing to consider getting there. You'll have to get the eye test done there, maybe starkad can help you out. Apparently you don't need to know much Japanese. They actually make it VERY quick. Within the day if your prescription is just regular or in the video below it took 3 days.

This video explains the experience of getting glasses in Japan. It's pretty detailed :3

edit:
I'm not 100% sure if OwnDays in Japan would have an english speaking optometrist but I believe they're one of the only japanese optom stores that have branched outside of Japan so maybe they're a better bet with English friendly staff.

Eh, now that I have seen the video, I actually really don't want to get glasses in Japan. With all the kind of eye healt thests they seem to be doing (here they really just check for your visoon), I don't want to go through the trouble of having to explain my eye health history in a language I don't speak. I think even starad would be uncomfortable lacking the proper technical terms.

I guess that would quite the hurdle to overcome especially in another language. I thought it was standard to check eye health when you see a new optometrist from my experience. I think the only test they won't do is the dilation to see the back of the eye for a regular individual.

I guess an alternative, if it's the cost of frames and lenses that is high, you could conduct the eye test in Germany and order your frames/lenses online or in Japan with the printed prescription. I often do that because my lenses alone from my optom cost me $500~;-; (but I have multifocals)
