I was recently gifted a whole box of a desert cookie thing called "fig newtons" and I'm not sure how I feel about them. They're a little weird. It's like a kind of jam-filled roll, but weirdly flattened, and the outside is super crumbly and dry even while being soft. I feel like they'd have been better as more normal bars with a shortbread-based base and the fig butter on top, and they could use some better spicing (a little cardamon or coriander, perhaps?). I can see how, since they're all packaged up for resale, you'd not want the sticky fig-butter on top to be open to the packaging, but the weird crumbly vaguely-bread-like cookie stuff they went with is just not doing it for me.
I don't know.

Sorry I haven't been online much. I just been busy. Good news I am approved as my mom's care provider for 23 hrs a week. Personally I care for her 24hrs a day, but at least it's more than I had before. And it adds up well.
