This is kinda a relief because sometimes I feel like maybe what I'm doing is childish XP

You don't need to worry about that. As long as your being true to yourself, and polite to others, all is well. :}

Yeah, I don't think age matters, especially online. If we get along, we get along. =)

same here. and despite the lower traffic... i'm so glad there is no bumping in most of the forums. i really hate trying to fish through all the bumps to find a conversation. -_-
i understand the whole point to keeping a thread alive, but some of the other sites take it overboard. -_-

I take it on myself to stay away from sites where bumping up a conversation thread is permitted.
Not that I never posted to get a thread back up, those posts purpose was to get the conversation started again. :}

exactly. i know the purpose of bumping used to be to keep pages/threads at the front page. but i've noticed that they have gone overboard when people just keep bumping even when the thread is the 2nd thread on page 1. -_-
the worst is when a site encourages it since they make events where you have to post to get items or something like that... i mean that's what we are doing here, but the amount that we have to do is very reasonable. i'm talking about the ones where you have to average about 50-100 posts a day to get an item. those are just ridiculous. ok. so they never explicitly say post this much, but if you can do an action unless you post, there's a 3 min wait time between every action, and the opening expires in like 10-15 minutes, then essentially you just have to continue to post throughout the day to be able to get anything. as if we have no lives or other online social groups that we may want to hang out with.
sorry for the rant... ^^;

Oh I'm totally there with you. I was on an other site that once had a chat-event as they called it. There post score needed, was exactly that.
I sent the admins' my two cents in an email about a good essay long.
(Your rant would be barely a paragraph) Well it was received and suddenly, wait time between posts was cut down to only 30 sec, and it became lurker friendly by having currency under peoples avatars as well. :}

at least that site responded positively. =)
i mean i understand sites wanting to promote conversation and traffic like this event. i mean we have to post, but at least if i only post about 20 times or less, i could probably get most if not everything. ^^;

Well You'll have to post a bit more to get all the item's. There are 24 item's So a good 110 posts in total is what is minimally needed to make to get enough currency. It's the randomness that makes one need to post a bit more. Still only about 10 posts a day are sufficient to complete the set. :}
