my sister was born in berlin ^_^
she still has a piece of the wall from when it came down ^_^
i think she was like 4 or something at the time.
I went to a museum with my mom in DC and they had a piece on display and i was all "cool heritage!" and she asked why i was so excited since i had a piece at home, i responded huh??? and she proceded to tell me how I grabed a piece when we were living there before thomas was born (he is my older brother) lol i then realized she had me and my sister jenny mixed up.b xD

I love germany, i've been to Koln (dont have an umlout key) when my mom came to teach a crash course of german phrases to my class that was taking the trip you could see her getting pink in the face as everyone pernounced it Cologne the american way after she told them the proper way to pronounce it, and she would mutter the correction under her breath everytime someone said it wrong xD

If Merrys teaching you dutch you should teach me German :D

Hmmm I didn't get a piece of the wall, but I did steal a tile from a street on which the wall was built. 8D

Why under her breath? She should have kicked your ass every time. Grammar nazi's for the win! xD

I ain't teaching anyone Dutch! It's a stupid language, no one needs to know. There are so much more interesting languages. Like Russian. I want to move on to Russian after having learnt the basic languages of German, French and Spanish. And I want to learn Japanese of course. So many languages... <3

I was correcting them on the trip too lol

grammars the hardest part i have with german, since its so different that the sentence structure we have here in the states.

Don't look at me for that.
/struggles

Oooh sorry, misunderstood x3
That's better.

I've always thought it's way different to Dutch too (the languages sound alike but the grammar seems to be way different) but in the end it's quite the same.
Now I understand that I should just remember what to do with which word type. xD

what about you cyan? :D

well the word order i should say is the biggest issue i have, i try and structure the german scentence in the same order as you would in english which makes everything come out disasterous lol

Is it that different? I have never noticed that.
Ist es so anders? Ich habe das nie bemerkt.

Only "that" moves in these two sentences :o
No, word order certainly isn't my problem...

you should have seen some of the homework my german teacher assigned us, it really confused me because it would contradict the first assignment for that day or ect of sometimes when i wanted to say something along the lines of "that book belongs to jenny" should have us say jenny first and have buch at the end of the scentence but the next assignment it would be in the same place as it was in english T-T

cyan is still hoping she won't get banned because she accidently opened a million Knuffel tabs earlier today all at once <.>
And she's drawing a Wild Knuffel and tries to make screenshots of all steps. But as always she is despairing at the hair colouration.

German word order is much more free than English. But that brings us back to the case system :P I suck at explaining, I don't know all the English words ._.
Das Buch gehört Jenny.
Jenny gehört das Buch.
Both basically meaning the same.

To me that sounds like
The book belongs to Jenny.
Jenny belongs to the book.
Like wtf. :')

Jenny belongs to the book > Jenny gehört dem Buch.
As I said. Cases. They are magic ;D
