I had one big friend (though tbh we were probably more than that) break up in my life. The rest just generally drift apart.

It was a long and difficult process but a good one. I didn't realize how toxic the relationship was until I completely cut them out of my life >.<

Sometimes you really can't see till you are looking in hindsight. :}

Yeah. In hindsight you can see all the red flags light up like an airstrip. :}

I had a group of toxic friends, but I had no idea until my boyfriend brought it up. Like he would mention "you know the other day when this and that happened ... that's not right" after a while he made me see they weren't such great friends, but I was okay (They were the only friends I had in that year level and had history and I just can't walk away from people I care about).
One day they crossed the line and my Bf had enough, he came up to me and ask if he could talk to them, I said okay and then they got into an argument and then I broke it off from them. I was lonely at the time, but I was much happier, and I still am :D

A little more background to that^
I had known those friends for 5 years and I was very close, but we argued here and there. Even if they were in the wrong I apologized to keep the peace. Regularly they had put me down with their words but I was too blind and always took their words as a joke, because we were friends. I was so wrong, and again hindsight really shows you just how wrong you can be at times. And that is life, always learning and changing.

Exactly, and I bet those friends claimed your BF ruined a good friendship. I'm glad for you that your BF had the courage to jump in, hope you found better friends since then. :}

Plus, leaving bad people in your life behind, means that you've made room for the good ones, to come in. :}
