There never is any event for those holidays, there's usually just a couple of free items O: It is a little sad the free items got cut, but I think it was a fairly minor cut so that the site could get a couple things it needed more, so I'm not too sad. Easter/Spring event is right around the corner though, so I'm psyched for that. I love pastels and such, so it's usually one of my favourite events.

Oh goody! I'm only sad because I joined RIGHT after the halloween one, missed it entirely. And the only one I've gotten to participate in is the advent calendar.

Ahhh, that's too bad. I'll admit I wasn't a big fan of the Halloween items this year, though. But my opinion is a bit biased, since I don't really like bats xD I really liked this year's advent calendar items. The 2014 advent items were pretty too, but... I can't look at them and not see "Frozen" xD;;;; Which I've seen enough of to last a life time already, and so I rarely use those items.

I didn't care for 90% of the advent items either! I think I liked the snow and the eyes and the blush... and that's it. I don't care much for the red red on this site.

The eyes are one of my favourite parts 
And I was crazy psyched when I saw the blush. There aren't a lot of those around, and the nicest one is really rare, so comes at a steep price. I liked the hair, a lot of the clothes, and the berry accessories too, though I'm a fan of the red, so that helped. However, I have no idea what I might do with the long white beard xDD Only time I've seen it used is when Natz made psychotic Santa:
I'm sure there's a masculine user floating around somewhere that likes it, though.

I prefer boy skins on avatar sites for some reason, it makes me sad when they change an item's look just because of the gender.
There are a ton of lovely beards on here but most of their colors are off from the normal palette. :/

Ohhh really? I jump for joy whenever an item changes for male avatars. Because so many of the items are very feminine, and stay just as feminine when you stick them on a male avatar. I think drag-queens are totally fabulous in most situations and all, but here it's a little frustrating because using like a dress on a male avatar will just end with it being practically indistinguishable from a female one, so you may as well have just kept it set on female. It's more fun when I can use my items to make a more obviously male avatar sometimes, without having to go so far as sticking a beard on it.
Ohhh, yeah, because the beards are older items. At least some of them should be fixed within the next year, Firn is slowly overhauling the main shops to match the new art style and color scheme. Understandably it takes a while to do, though.

That's good to know, there's quite a few items that are either just mislabeled or completely off in color.

I like my pretty boys too, I think for me it's more the "variety" side of things xD I can see where you're coming from, though.
Oh yeah totally, some of the older items are crazy wonky. It's because until a few years in, the site had no real official color palette. All the items were extremely random, and named rather arbitrarily. Eventually once the item base built up enough, it became more obvious that it needed a clear-cut color system, and Firn ended up doing a ton of polls for color choices, and making one. Now all the new items come out based on the system, but really old ones have colors that don't match at all, and some have the names of what became "official" colors, but the shade doesn't actually match, ect.
If you look at the shops, you'll notice that the first page or two, and then the last few pages are the only ones that are "new" looking and fit the system. The first pages were made after it was implemented, and the last pages are remakes Firn has finished, because she started from the very oldest items and is working backward.

That's fun to know! Oh gosh I saw someone's OLD OLD knuffel the other day, you could only feed it once every like 15 seconds, so strange and tiny. It's neat to see how sites evolve.
