I have three babies - an Australian Shepherd puppy named Kohaku (Haku) a tiny tortoiseshell cat named Simba (Simby-Sue) and a three-toed box tortoise named Starry Night (Star). ^^
All three of my babies live with my parents now, since I am traveling, and will be for the next few years. But I come home to visit them (and my friends and family, of course) next month! I cannot wait! I miss them so much!

Thank you Strawberry!
Kohaku is named after a character from Spirited Away that is very close to my heart.
Spoiler
In the movie, the main character is a wimpy whinebag that' that's upset about moving away from her old home and all of her old friends to attend a new school in a different city. Throughout her adventures with Haku she finds her inner strength and confidence. By the end of the movie, (as in the last line), her parents mention how scary starting life in a new advil can be, and she replies with "I can handle it". Obviously I am leaving out an entire two hours of action and fantasy, it's an amazing movie and I couldn't recommended it highly enough, but I got Haku as my graduation present from high school, and I was pretty nervous about starting college, so I thought maybe he's be my good luck charm, just like he was to Chehiro. ^^; Sappy, I know, but hey, I'm hella corny.
Simba was named not after the character from Lion King, but after the stuffed animal of said character I got at the Disney store when I was little. ^^; Did I mention that I got hey in first or second grade?
And Starry Night was named by my mother after her favorite painting. My mum bought hey for me so that I would stop bringing slugs into the house as pets. ^^;

I have a dog, who is 17 years old. She is very sweet and well-behaved.
I used to have a cat named Ping who is pretty crazy. She would constantly attack people and get into all sorts of trouble but I love all of her sass.

Luna, you should be checking out your library anyhow then, for your cat or not. I suspect that if you've not been there since you were a baby you won't have any idea of what you can find/get there, and they often have a lot of great resources. (flyers to local events, club meetings, reference librarians are an amazing resource to help you find ANYTHING, and the actual books on cat care, of course, should also be there)
They can help you with stuff from polishing resumes to figuring out who to call in the government if you want something changed (I don't just mean, "this person in your city council is in charge of speed limits", I mean things like "So-and-so is nominally in charge but here's the name of their amanuensis who really runs things and these are all the clubs they are a member of if you want to approach them informally".)
/end library plug
@Sakura I don't suppose you have pictures of Nugget? He sounds super cute!

Sure! Let's see if this works. He's a little younger in this picture. His color has come in a bit darker now. :3
