We dont have halloween, we have Karneval and this is in february.
Not pretty much the same, but theres candy too and people dress up.
But like the most things from america, its starting here too.
Kids walking around and beg for candy, problem is that not everyone celebrates halloween here, so most even dont have candy at home.
Its a slow starting trend.

Tiamatsan wrote:Yup! Halloween is October 31 for us Americans. But considering the general festive atmosphere, Halloween basically starts on October 1st, if you want to release your knuffle at the beginning of October it should be fine.
(Like seriously, American Halloween spirit is stupid strong. We've been selling Halloween candy and decorations for like 2 weeks now and most people will have decorations going up at the beginning of October. It'll really ramp up once it hits 13 days before Halloween because that's when all the tv stations will start marathon-ing all of the Halloween classic movies as they keep a count down till Halloween)
If Halloween isn't on October 31st for Germany, what day does it fall on?
Lucky you... We always hope for some Halloween Candy or Decoratiob, but IF it appears in stores, than like 2 weeks before Halloween. (Also from Germany here.) BUT!! You can literally buy Christmas Sweets and so on right now...
Also, looking forward to the Werewolf Knuffel :3

Wow, you guys can buy Christmas stuff already???? And I thought we went overboard with the Christmas stuff. (Normally you can start buying Christmas decorations and stuff in November)
Also, since the super hero death one is the most popular one in the poll, I have a lot more time to work on him than the other knuffles. So I'm going to try to make the best out of him as I can. This should be interesting because I want to try and avoid most of the skeleton superhero cliches as I can (i.e. Ghost Rider etc.) so we'll see what happens.

Yep supermarkets already sell christmas stuff.
But maybe we do buy more decoration stuff this year, cause the most unnecessary decorations you buy more for your kids than for yourself.
Therefore our kiddo is now one year and realises more, I guess we go totally for christmas.
Normally we didnt cared about, was just a day for us the last few years.^^

I am no big fan of Christmas, but I am celebrating because of my partner. He loves Christmas and wants a tree and decoration X'D
I remember times when Christmas sales started November... but somehow they are starting earlier and earlier :/

Wow, it's still surprising that you can buy Christmas stuff this early. Maybe it's because you guys don't really celebrate Halloween and you don't have Thanksgiving? Maybe you don't need to pace yourself as much as we do with 3 major holidays in a row?

I guess you might be right about that. Thanksgiving hasn't really been celebrated for ages and even if, it was never as big as in America. And Halloween... well, as ToxicFirefly mentioned, we have Karneval... and we have something called Witch's Night which is on the same night as Walpurgis and pretty similar to Halloween, but somehow it gets celebrated less and less and is mostly for small children.
Edit: Oh... and Germany has some problem with the law when it comes to "mummery"... they are totally overstrained with Karneval already x'D

Hmmmmmmm, I'm having a hard time picking a color scheme for the werewolf pirate....... I know that I was his eyes to be gold, but everything else is up in the air...... maybe primary blues and browns with accents in black/ white???? what do you guys think?
