I can't really comment on the data usage. I just use it and not pay attention to that.

The game only glitches out when you have a low data connection. if your phone is not connecting well, take it to who you bought it from and they might try some things to make it better. We just got new phones and it was hardly working for anything using data. The did some kind of force update and now it works just fine.

Honestly, you have a lot of catch so that would make it way fun. As a long time player. you get all the pokemon then the game gets kind of boring until they add new pokemon.

As for events missed, I wouldn't worry about that. They keep rotating legendary pokemon into things so you have a chance later to get something you missed some time down the road.


I'm going to Pokemon Go Fest this weekend. I hope the weather is good. It was stupid hot last year that we left early.

The one I'm going to is in Chicago. They also have them in England and Japan.

Basically we will get a park to walk around in, we have daily events where we catch so many whatever even rare things show up. We can win prizes too.

Last year was a mega flop though. It was super hot, too many people used up the data so that the game hardly worked, no one knew what was going on. They ended up refunding people and gave everyone 15k poke-coins and a Lugia.

We are giving them another try this year. if it sucks again, we may not go back.

Pokemon Go Fest was way better this year. They fixed the problems from last year and we had a good time besides the bit of rain and hot weather. But it was cloudy so we didn't have the sun beating down on us. I got a ton of unknowns and they gave us a Celebi for completing special Willow tasks. The only thing I would like is if they sold t-shirts so I had something to physical to take home. They were giving Shirts out as prizes but it was like every 30 minutes they would have you guess the pokemon from the number, they always picked some cute kid. Then it was two people who have the most whatever. So like only hardcore players got stuff.

Overall it was fun. We may do it again next year.

Yeah, I really hope the spread it out across the US so others can enjoy the event.
Maybe not they can run it smoothly, they can have it in more locations. Or move it around every year.

I'd say there are bugs. Many bugs. They introduced a lot along with friend and trade update. I've experienced problems with gym battles, once again. I couldn't start the battle and then I couldn't try to start it again, because "gym is under attack". Whenever I completed a quest (aka "research") with a wild pokemon encounter reward, the game stopped responding to the touch after the pokemon appeared, I had to restart the app and then go right to my reward to be able to actually try to catch it. Also, there are times when all pokemon vanish while I've been walking or standing, the same way as if I was driving, just without the proper message. They appear back soon, but it's annoying.

I wouldn't say it's because of data transfer - I have absolutely no problem with it, there are also times when I play on wifi and the game behaves the same way. So it's not it, at least in my case.

BUT I've noticed they already get rid of some of these bugs. I had problems like these two weeks ago, last week too, but today the gym bug and quest pokemon encounter have been gone. Well, the second one is partly gone - the encounter as a quest reward was ok, but the ancounter because of quest stamps was glitched the same way as before, I had to restard the app... Anyway, I'd say it seems they are working actively on the bugs, so I wouldn't mind them so much. They really do get rid of them after a while. There was a pretty long time when I hadn't got any problems at all. Just wanted to say there are some, but, well, it's natural when you make such big changes...

As for the transfer, lately I'm barely playing at all and mainly on wifi, but there was a time when I've been more active. It was exactly one year ago. I was playing about 1-2 hours 5 days per week and my monthly transfer was about 1-1.2 GB, of which Pokemon Go was about 80-95%. It's a really rough assessment, but I hope it helps a bit. If you want to play a lot, you have to prepare properly... And not only transfer, power too...

As it was said before (I can't find this post at the moment to mention it in a more proper way), you don't miss too much because you haven't been playing all this time. Legendary pokemon are coming back, there are times when you can catch it, via raid or via research stamples (depending also on month - they seem to change it a bit). Also you can get it from your friend via trade. And there are more ways to gain exp, you can get it more because of raids, so you may level up quicker than people who played with the same intensity some time ago. The only thing you may miss is Pikachu in a special outfit - how many there have been? 5? 6? I don't have them all either... Pikachu in paty hat, Ash cap, Santa hat, summer hat and sunglasses... I've seen my sister has also witchy hat pikachu. But you can always trade. If you're a pikachu fan, that is...

What kind of phone do you have?

I only had gyms battles glitch out on me once. It was when gyms were new. I was fighting Articuno and the battle froze. I had to close and restart the game. When I re-entered the gym. Articuno was there for me to try to catch it. I was happy about that, but I didn't catch the Articuno. XD

Pokemon vanishing happens a lot but hardly bugs me. It might be a GPS thing. I found if you hold the phone more vertical they came back faster. It was something I read online to optimize gameplay for Pokemon Go.

I think they have brought back the hat Pikachu for certain occasions. Santa hat comes around for Christmas as example.
