I actually do hear an interesting bird call here and there - still trying to figure out what all the birds in my area are :mcheh:

Nice! Yeah, there's a few new ones moved in (or temporarily staying over on their way somewhere, I'm not sure which) near me and they're rather intriguing to listen to.

I kind of don't want to hard-core go after trying to find out what they are because the mystery itself is rather fun, and once I know then it's over.

... yeah, I'm not very good with logic. What a strange thing to think. Still! There it is.

Are yours the sort that are loud enough you notice them without having to pay attention, or the kind that you only ever really hear when you stop and listen for them?

I hope you have some tricks to help turn your brain off so you can get a little rest :qh:
I know. I'm sorry. I'm stressed and a little grumpy. And it doesn't help that my brother get's on my nerves.
Stressed and grumpy actually sounds like a pretty sensibly human response to this. I hope the day of observation at the hospital gave more information on what is happening with your father. Take care of yourself, too, though, right? I mean, if you can't sleep, fine, what can you do about that, but don't forget to eat and stuff like that which you can actually do something about...
Thanks. Well I've been getting sleep. About 8 hours maybe 5. Today my brother is hopefully going to take me to visit our dad. Mom can't go, she's not feeling well. Joslyn and my brother's boys will be in school so my dad will have some peace. The doctors and nurses are all amazed that my dad collects stamps. He's the first one they've had there who collects stamps. lol

@red: I don't know all of his music, but he likes Avenge Sevenfold. And stuff in that category. I don't mind Linkin Park or Three Days Grace, I'll listen to them. But the rest I can do without.

I have no idea. He might like you too.

Saw my dad. Turns out it he had a stroke. He says it's coagulating, but it's slow. He may end up on disablilty. Which means I'll be taking care of both parents. I got the shock of my life. He told my brother and I that according to the doctors, from the pain he was in he shouldn't have been able to wake up the second time. We almost loss him. So thank god (no offense to your beliefs) that he was able to get up and go to the hospital. He called our mom after we left, but didn't tell her, so I'm not going to tell her. I don't want her getting upset. I'll just have to keep a tight eye on him.

Isn't that the word for when you stop bleeding and heal?

coagulating is when the blood that is already outside of its normal circulation system hardens and stops being liquid, as far as I know? It's like a form of the word "clot". If he had a bleed that wouldn't stop bleeding, then coagulation is a good thing; that's what forms a scab and heals over a cut. You hear scary stories about people bleeding inside their skulls and putting pressure on the brain because there's no outlet for the blood, so I'm really happy to hear he's not actually bleeding any longer; that was a scary diagnosis!

On the other hand, when my paternal grandfather was having stroke issues they actually had him on an ANTI-coagulant, a blood-thinner, because a lot of strokes are from when blood cells clot up within the vein or artery and then block it (I think it's technically an "embolism" when it happens outside the brain and a stroke when it happens in the brain? Not sure on that, this was all many years ago now. Um, let's see, it would have been in 1997 or so? Maybe 1998, but still a long time ago! I could easily be mis-remembering!).
My paternal grandfather sadly isn't around any longer, but he was born in 1923, so don't take that as a bad omen or anything!

Either way, if it's stopped bleeding, and it is healing, then I'm happy.

And I'm SO glad he was able to get up that second time!!! What a relief to hear that he is so tough he made it awake again to get to the hospital!
