Yes, but if you live in a place that usually gets a lot of snow then typically they build in gutter supports so it doesn't happen. I lived for a while in a place that didn't normally get such heavy snow -and then they had 3 blizzards in a row and pretty much everyone lost their gutters. And then, three years later, we had a weirdly warm winter, and lost some of them again for a different reason. It kept melting, and we'd get the snow melting off the roofs and coming off the gutters as water, and then it would freeze again. We ended up with MASSIVE icicles and the weight was too much, it tore off the gutter again even with the new support.
(Our neighbors told us, too late to help, that we should have been knocking off the icicles as they formed. But we didn't know.)

Luckily like 90% of our snow is melted. I hate snow. It's cold and icky. And I have to shovel at 8:30 in the morning after I get Jossy on her bus, so our postman doesn't slip and fall. And I have to de-ice the sidewalks and stairs if there is ice. And if it's going to snow all day I have to shovel two to three times a day! And the temperature is dropping; gets any colder and I'll be farting snowflakes! *continues to rant*
if I lived near you I would have loved to shovel your snow even though I never shovel snow before. I love snow
