Nono, as you can see, fairy poops are beautiful winged gems so it's okay. :mcargh:

Even more reason to keep a fairy if that is the case :D

I figured fairy-coins were like an alternate form that fairies could take, and sometimes they'd just fall asleep that way and not remember to change back, so people collect and care for them in case a fairy remembers how to change back and it turns into a fairy again.... and then eventually they ended up being currency of a rather speculative, chancy sort....

@Akili Li

That is insane but I love it! Except it's a little sad to think some might not turn back... so I'm just going to believe they all eventually will.

well, it's half based off a number of shapeshifter legends where the shifters never die of old age, they just one day forget what form they're "supposed" to be in an adopt a different, inanimate form as their normal base form, and eventually forget to turn back. I've come across that several places and the notion of it just sort of stuck. So it's not really original with me at all, it's heavily plagiarized.
But yes... the coins only have value because they might turn back into fairies! After all, if they didn't, they wouldn't be worth anything, since what you're assigning value to is the possibility of a fairy friend....

yeah I don't know, it's really stuck in my head that this is the way it is. If Firn ever explains what they really are, I'm going to have a hard time remembering the real explanation.

(it works well with spending them; if you turn them in to the site for Treasure Trove items, then what happens is a fairy wakes up and grants you your wish -of the treasure trove set- in exchange for looking out for it)

That's actually a really cute headcanon, I like it!
Although the fairy poop idea is hilarious :D

It's still waste from a fairy's body :qd:

Yeah, but is waste a bad thing if it comes from a fairy though?

Okay then, there's probably no way to convince you otherwise :D
Not that it is in any way relevant, but I did find it a funny idea :D
