I'd get a new one because it's already about seven years old and the original software that came with it is no longer supported by the company that made the product. XD

My printer was weird :T It would say I'm out of ink when I just placed new ones. And since inks are very expensive, I don't bother anymore....

Maybe you needed to clean of the thing you attach the ink to? I think sometimes they get ink dried on them.
