I never pick up our landline. Unless it rings more than 3 times, usually it doesn't 'cause it's just advertising. They want to ask "if you have a minute" and I never have one. Not for those, sorry.

That must be the most stinky job in the world. Like, trying all day to talk to one person, do you think anyone's ever nice to these people? :mcsweat:

I remember having to sit in the kitchen to talk on the phone.
I mean, I could have stretched the cord into another room, but I always feared it would fly off the wall and smack me 8u

We got BS calls a lot. Some people also kept calling and asking for a Jamie who didn't live here.
I got a few other wrong numbers.

I always pick up to phone sellers, otherwise they keep calling again and again.
But I never let them talk much, I just cut them saying that I'm not interested.
And it's true, I'd never buy anything on the phone.

That reminds me - these people keep calling my mom, asking her if she wants to sell our house.
Don't know how and where they got her number, but they keep calling.

Did she ever try to sell the house?

Or maybe someone put an ad for another house, but typed the wrong number?

No, we'd never sell our house. My parents both stated they'd never sell a house they already own.
They did that when I was a kid and I guess they saw how stupid it was so they'd never do it again.

I guess that could happen, but I still find it weird these people got her number out of thin air.

She also kept getting these scam calls from the same number.
I told her to start answering the phone with a blood-curdling scream.
I think eventually they'd stop calling 8u

Hahahaha, at the very least they'd think it twice before calling again!

I mean, I'd stop calling someone who constantly screamed into the phone 8u

There was this one call we got on the home phone that was creepy to me.
I answered and I heard a voice say "Is this him?" and really...weird noises in the background and they hung up .__.

Maybe it's a phone prank?
Seems very silly though...

No, in general some people still keep calling. If you pick up and if you don't pick up. Second question is always, when may I call back?

Never. >.>

Most rude one, not on landline though, is one that called my husband already last year and they tried again this year. A website which apparently has our company on it, our registration has to be lengthened, but everyone's like... "whet website, what registration?!" So they say, ok, if you don't want it, we'll send you a contract to end it, you'll just have to pay 150 dollar (approx.).

Like, wtf? I was already angry at my husband last year, this year he gave them my number, so I was only able to figure out what website (it looked like '90 throwback, bad free website and I told them it was crap), got pretty pissed actually at them for trying. Wonder if they call again next year. I reported the website for harassment, but I wonder if they'll do anything with it, since it's not the website itself, but the people behind it. Scammers, hate them. >.>
