Soo, since it's a summer thread, does anyone have summer plans? Holiday or just work? Or maybe a day out? Does anyone like swimming really? It's always beach and swim themed, but I truly am not a big fan of swimming. :> I can, a bit, if I need to but that's about it. Beach is often too hot, I prefer an activity?

Holidays here. But we don't plan to do nothing much.
We'll go to the beach now and then, because we live in a sea-side village (10-minutes walk to the nearest beach) and my son enjoys it, but we usually don't stay long.
Spending some time with my parents in-law (they live quite near) and also with my parents (we are visiting these days).
And returning to KofK! That's a thing, and it does takes a lot of time to catch up

getting back into kofk is a good way to spend the holidays. ;-D I've also been away for a long time, but came back 2 months ago? It's still super quiet here, but at least it's easy to keep on track with thread, visiting once a day is enough to keep up, at least you don't have to read back 10 pages...
Living near the seaside sounds cool too, what kid can resist sand & water. <3 Lucky that your family lives near, we recently came back from our holiday and visited my parents' and my parent's in law. The kids are still with the grandparent's, they'll come back on monday. :)

nope i have no plans as of yet. i think its mainly just covid scare lol. my younger sister, who's bolder and also much more put together than me and has like a gazillion friends, is going on vacation with friends near the end of july or start of august or end of august, i don't remember which. she's just travelling within the country but that's still traveling sooooo...xD

So Jolien returned to KofK recently too! What a coincidence
Oh, kids staying with the grandparents surely gives you a lot less to think about for a few days
We live very close to my in-laws, it's less than half an hour drive, so we meet on weekly basis. When we can, of course, because some limitations have been enforced (yeah, covid makes everything complicated).
We are not travelling either.
I really don't get the point of travelling right now. I would be uneasy going to touristic places filled with people, and staying in a hotel where other people enter my room (for cleaning), etc.
And I haven't met my friends since it all began, over a year now.
I guess social people would disagree...

Well, we travelled to our family and around the country there, by bike. Stayed in camp sites, not super overpopulated but there were people. I dunno, kinda fed up with it all, I just want to get out now and then. I try to avoid planes still, but think we can't really, unless we want to spend 2 days for travel every time.
Think there'll be a funeral soon, my husband considers attending and my mom will have to go to hospital soon for surgery, I want to visit her and help her when she gets home, if I can. Soo, I hope we'll still be allowed to travel within the EU for some time.

You're probably more social than I am
And in any case your travel style seems very careful.
If you enjoy bike trips it's great because outdoor activities are much safer than indoor ones. I don't see any harm on it.
But it's not my thing.
I'm more into visiting places of cultural interests (museums and such) but linger and mingle with people, finding good restaurants (low-key gastronomic tourism!) and good old libraries, going to cafes... Very relaxed.
And I know of people who still travel like that, but I don't feel comfortable doing so anymore.
