They honestly don't stink as bad as everyone claims, especially if you take care of them properly. Giving them bad food can make them smell worse and a lot of people get ferrets without knowing how to properly care for them.

People also think giving them baths will make them smell less. That is really untrue because when you wash them too much, the ferret begins to overproduce the oil that stinks so much in order to replace what was lost.

And yeah, they are super sweet. They will steal things though! Mine steals bath mats from the bathroom! He also likes jingly things. Popcorn steals toothbrushes lol

Ahhhh, well that cleared up quite a few misconceptions for me, thank you! I've been told they're both oily and stinky, and now it's clear that's on the owner. I didn't know about their sneakthief type ways, haha. They sound like a joy to have around. Toothbrush stealing sock monsters o_o

I have a fish named Josie that is an Xray Tetra. She's our longest living fish and I don't know why but I'm glad she's not dead.

I have an outside cat named Jamie. She likes to come in sometimes for cuddles but she always demands to go back outside in about an hour or less. She needs all the attention and will get upset if you are using the bathroom and decide to wipe instead of petting her.

We just got a hedgehog about a week ago. His name is Nick Valentine after the character in Fallout 4. He's super cute but we're still getting to know each other. His nails are really long and we're having a hard time trimming them. I'm thinking we need to take him to the vet because one of his feet is swollen and I'm worried about it. Poor baby.

I've had birds, fish, cats, and dogs throughout my life. I currently only have a cat and really have little desire to have any other kinds of pets. I will consider a dog again if my son wants one when he's older or we need it for his special needs.
My cat's name is Wicket. She was born in Hawaii and now lives with us in Florida (we adopted her from a shelter when we lived on the island)

Currently, 3 cats.

That said... my end goal is a peaceful farm in the middle of nowhere with all the animals.

I love horses, they bring me such peace... since we live in the city, I am currently the one who can't be dragged out of the horse barns at the county fairs (since that's my opportunity to see them).

Love dogs... it's only been the last 10 years or so that I haven't had one.... once we are out of the city, that's on my list of things to change. :)

Luna: there are plenty of books on it, maybe go check at your local library?
