I've just joined here and this website and event are both very beautiful. I think I'm going to like it here. Plus events are always fun!

That's exactly why you need less pumpkins than days for which the event lasts. If you missed two pumpkins till the end of the event as you say you have, you will still get the costume as you will have 26 out of 28 and only need 24.
We really thought this through very well and do not agree with your arguments.
It's the easiest part of the whole event - all you need to do is log in once in 24 hours for the majority of the days during the event and click on a button.
The costume is a reward for being a regular and active member of our community.
It's our way to say "Thank you!" to members who stick with us and come here on an (almost) daily base.
Wrong, I can do that because I didn't have a clue that there would pop up a event, in other sites I'm in so do they tend to tell that days before, just to keep people allert, but there where no such thing here.
And I don't think you read my post right, I will have two pumpkins too little when the event ends, I wont have 26.. I will have 22.
Maybe you guys should tell about the next event, maybe a week before, so people get to know it in time and not the same day it starts.
So it's just the really active members that counts in here?
Everyone else are just 'crap' in your eyes then?
I can't see a reason for people to join this site at all now,
because they won't be worth anything anyway.

Kaamos / Cassandra, I like events like this being a nice surprises, but if you like to be forewarned about future events and such, you could always check the first page of Firn's To-Do List in the Announcement Forum, or her Art-Thread-turned-hangout, the Mysterious Jellyfish Domination.
And I think that last comment is a bit harsh. You only need to be on for a second everyday to harvest the pumpkin if you're aware of the time you harvested it last, and it's just one set. There are 30 more items that other people could get. I'd understand the sentiment if that set was all we got for the event, but there are a lot more that the less active people could get.

Firn talked about it a few days before it started in her hangout.
So it was mentioned beforehand.
I don't recall there ever being an announcement for an
upcoming event...
Regulars are always valued more than new members.
That doesn't mean new members don't matter.
Giving a reward for loyalty is always nice.
There's no need to be unpleasant.
I haven't seen anyone else complain.
I will have an extra set if you want it.

My pc crashed three months ago and i haven't been able to log on before today. So i will be one pumpkin short. is there a way to gather that last pumpkin for the even.t

Wow...I must say, this might be the best event so far. I ??? the countdown for giving candy, its a great system and it makes everything way easier. And the combo of getting candy from users/getting it by clicking is working really well, at least for me. Although I won't be able to get the pumpkin prize outfit (which is really my fault, I haven't been active much lately 
) I'm really excited for the rest of the event. Thanks Firn and starkad!

harsh but agreeable, i just got on yesterday with enough time to get 1 pumpkin so, if i did the math right, i'll still get 24. but they really should have sent a notice. sence you didn't, I have to log on every day around 10 or 11 pm just to get a pumpkin. even though i enjoy the event, please send a notice next event.
