Life just does that some times; you end up prioritizing things you never thought you'd do, and losing other things you thought you'd always keep.
I second that! You nailed it.

I also used to play the flue, for 2 years I think? I was really good actually, but I stopped.

Being interested in learning how to play the guitar, I finally applied for a class 1 year ago :) Had lessons for 5 months, had to stop because of going abroad and going to continue starting tomorrow :)

Agreed - far too little time (and energy) in a day to do all that one would like to.
Great that you'll take up the guitar lessons again, Julez!
I should really take some time to play as well... I play the alto recorder - or rather used to, it's been collecting dust on my shelf for a long time now - and I also used to take some piano lessons. Never got terribly good at that though, the recorder is definitely more my thing.

Colouring as in taking some finished lineart or a colouring book and colouring that in?
I kinda like that, too, I even have a colouring book for grown-ups lying around somewhere, but I never really find the time for it. Too many other things I like doing as well... When I just want some relaxing creative time I mostly turn to crocheting.

i wish so often that PG Wodehouse would've tried writing mysteries! if he had created a male protagonist, it wouldn't have been an insufferable one. i like the idea of a Wodehouse-ish hero bumbling his way to the truth.
Akili Li wrote:Oh! Have you tried Sarah Caudwell? She only wrote a grand total of 4 or so, but I love that the detective-hero in those stories is maybe a heroine and not a hero... Professor Hilary Tamar. Somehow I got through all the books without realizing that never once was a gendered pronoun used for Professor Tamar, and so the reader is left to imagine whichever form of gender best suits their imaginings.
It's very cleverly done.

Oooooooohhhh! Wait, I overlooked the obvious!

Okay, try Elizabeth Peters' "Jacqueline Kirby" mysteries! Cozies with an unforgettably wonderful female sleuth who is far too smart to take herself seriously.
they both sound wonderful! their books aren't available on amazon in my country, nor sapna online which is the local seller i usually look up, so i got the kindle versions instead. i got Thus Was Adonis Murdered by the former, and Die for Love by the latter! i'll finish the ngaio marsh and then try these :mcsquee: looking forward to it, thank you so much!
(also can i just say your advice is never unasked, directly or indirectly, and it's always really amazing and interesting cause you know so much and! don't stop!!)

Well, I think there's better and worse ones. It depends.
