Math really only worked for me up until the point I couldn’t study on my own and advance naturally. I had difficulties with trig. Calculus was okay. Intro college probability I studied on my own with good video lectures. It was mostly downhill after that.
Education varies so much by state and district. Teachers make a huge difference in my experience. I somehow caught the attentions of some who really, really helped me, or I’d be a very different person. I’m pretty lucky.
I had fatigue problems in high school/college because of chemo. It was really hard to explain, because I don’t have cancer. It was a mildly terrible time.

DC: ...and if she likes computers, there’s USACO! Robotics? BEST! Honestly, she can have so much fun; it’s really exciting. c: /nerd
I can cheer her on! Everyone wants a random nobody as a cheerleader lol.
light; Math isn’t for everyone. I don’t like how it’s taught here in the states. I think I got lucky with teachers. Imo it’s more important to go at your own pace than meet some arbitrary metric.
Right now she's learning computers. But I don't have money or the ability to take her anywhere so competitions are out. Plus I'm my mother's care provider.
My daughter is so cute. She wants to save up her piggy bank money so she can take Grandma to Harry Potter World in Universal Studios. She calls it Harry Potter World so that's what I end up calling it. XD She loves wizards and magic and such and she knows Grandma wants to go. She has about seven dollars already.

DC; I think USACO is online. AMC tests up to the summer program are through the school. If she qualifies for the summer program, that is a Big Deal and aid should be provided.
The summer program is to select the team for the International Math Olympiad.
Both these programs are high school.
It took a lot, including parental involvement, for me to go to mathcounts competitions in middle school because I’m severely disabled. In high school, the school provided transportation to nearby competitions to everyone interested, but at a cost. A lot of computer contests are online; the trick is finding legitimate ones. There is also an online math contest—USAMATS iirc. The options may be limited, but some alternatives do exist.
Best of luck to your daughter. She is so adorable. :D
And being a caregiver is hard. You deserve endless kudos. <3
Edit; competitions are so far away you probably shouldn’t worry. Things will become more accessible.

Ah, okay. Well we'll just have to wait till the time comes.
Thanks. She can be, but she can be a pain in the butt. But that's all kids. XD
And now we're ranting about Disney. Not we as in Joslyn and I, the figurative "we". I was checking out Disney art on deviantart and I came across the new female character for Frozen 2 and my daughter came in and asked me who she was. I said I didn't know, except she's from Frozen 2.
Joslyn: Frozen 2?
Me: Yeah they're making another movie about Frozen.
Joslyn: UGH! Why not a Gargoyles movie?
Me: Because Disney's done doing Gargoyles. Mr. Wiesman hasn't even been able to continue his comic series.
Joslyn: But I don't like Frozen! It's boring! It doesn't have Gargoyles!
Me: Sorry?
lol My poor baby.

Hahaha that’s amazing. XD
But what if they did a live-action gargoyle movie?
I’d want to see that so bad, actually.

At least I don't have to listen to "Let it go" all day.
She'd love that. I don't know if it'd be child suitable, so I'd have to see it first.

I just want gargoyles doing grumpy things all day and complaining about life. XD
Old cranky gargoyles.
I don’t even know.

I read A Man Called Ove and I’m super obsessed lol.
It was a fun book! With feelings.
...I should reread it.

Audriella - Teachers totally make a difference. I had some teachers that would work really hard to help their students learn. And then there were teachers that would just give you a packet of work to do and not even kind of explain how to do them.
Oh yah. Chemo will definitely cause a lot of exhaustion. I know there's other reasons to have chemo but I don't think it's common knowledge. What was yours for?
I really like Frozen. There are few Disney movies that I don't like. I'm very excited about Frozen 2. lol.
I would super be into a Gargoyles reboot though. That was an amazing series. I loved it so much.
