Our family relations are a bit odd, I suppose.
I'm currently talking to my parents into disinheriting me, so start from there xD

My parents think it's extreme too, but I think it makes sense.

My parents built a house in the 80s, using the main structure from my grandparents house which is from the 60s I think.
So its become a 3-story building, with 3 flats that are (almost) independent. Because they were always meant to be for the family, they share the heating, etc.
My grandma lives in her flat (which is the oldest one), my parents in another one and my brother and his family in the last one (both property of my parents).
So whenever my grandma dies her flat passes onto my father (he's an only son) and he'll have the entire building. Which would eventually be for his children (my brother and me) of course.

But I don't want any of it.
I mean, by the time we get to that point (hopefully my parents will live 30 years more!) it's gonna be an old building. Specially grandma's flat.
And I don't plan to go living there ever. Cause I've got my work and my family elsewhere, we bought our own apartment here and we're happily settled. I only go there as a visitor.
So maintening my part of that house would be a poor investment for me. (Also I would be unable to sell my part, as it's only one house and those flats are not truly independent.)

On the other hand my brother lives there. He's handy and would put a lot of work on it if only he knew it's gonna be for him.
He could be interested in starting to invest early on (even before my parents pass!) and keep it in great condition.
He also could rent one the flats that get vacant and earn an extra income.
That would be definetely valuable for him.

So I don't want any of it.
I want my brother to have it all. Because he would make a profit and I would not.
I don't feel like I'm really "losing", but my parents feel like they would be disinheriting me. Which I agree is true, but I'm a-ok with that, so I'm trying to convince them it's for the best.

We just had the snow storm of the century here wow. Vancouver has never seen so much snow!!!!

Aw, snow! Be careful!

We are having a hell of a wheather here too, stormy and raining very hard.
But temperatures never drop low enough for snow.
I don't miss it though!

Ohh i heard that vancouver and areas near there, you had such cold temperatures that there was a danger of frostbite. 8u like….-20sC with a windchill, it was like in the -40sC. Is that true?? 8u

I hear we might get some of the storm on this end of canada but…i’ll see it to believe it lol.

-20ºC sounds like a nightmare to me.
I can't even imagine how the -40ºC sensation could be...
